I'm not sure if anything like this has been posted, but here is my version of a fantastic pizza!

Ingredients:

  • WASA Crispbread
  • Hunts Tomato Sauce - Basil, Garlic, & Oregano
  • Fresh onions, pineapple, green peppers, olives, mushrooms
  • Fat-free or veggie mozzarella, shredded

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Heat oven to 350°.

Create your personal pizza by covering a WASA crispbread lightly with sauce. Add your favorite fresh veggies. Sprinkle with cheese. Place on baking sheet. (you can make many different pizzas this way!)

Bake about 8-10 minutes, or until cheese melts. Enjoy! (c:

Hi Tori,
I had a good chuckle when I read this post......just tonight I made pizza for the family and desperately wanted some, So I took my rye krisp light (ingred: rye, salt) and made myself some veggie pizza, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, green olives and black olives with a small amount of mozzarella
It just hit the spot. I was going to post the recipe, but you beat me too it.
            May G-d bless you

What about using a Carb Control tortilla?  You could bake it until it is crispy and browned.  Would those be allowed on LDL?  I've not rec'd my book and not sure about the low carb tortillas.  diane

HI In Tune,

I asked a similar question in the past bc I found some corn tostadas that had only 3 ingredients and were low in cals. They were really good for the 2 days that I ate them until I thought to ask.  thumbdown

I was told it is the processing of the food as well as the added ingredients that make it a non LDL food. For crunch, stick with the Wasa crisp bread and the Corn thins (I think it is real foods ORIGINAL). I just ordered mine yesterday. There is a section on the site - prob in the Q&A with a post that says Corn Thins. It will give you more info.

There is also a seed embargo so make sure you buy the plain kind of anything. NO SEEDS!  drool  Don't know why!
I asked but didn't get a response. And I can't find the answer in the book.

I am sure some of the older/wiser members will also respond. I just saw your post while looking for recipes and thought I would share what I know to give you a leg up.

BTW, I also found Polenta in a tube (which is also all corn) and Organic corn flour. I thought I had it ---I even yelled YUREKA!  (no, really) in the store. But alas - it was not to be. The only "flour" we are supposed to use is ground fresh popcorn.

Oh, I was lucky (aka. Divined) to have found your post since the last post on the thread was from 2007. Try posting a new topic in the Q&A section when you have a question. You will probably get more responses that way. hug

Have fun!

Look in the Vegetarian section of your grocery store. That's where I found it. Lot's of other interesting items there too. happy

Thanks. I usually just peruse the canned/packaged stuff and overlook the cold section everytime!

Isn't it great to have something healthier to replace the unhealthier foods we enjoyed.
Little Mary's Pizza Soup is another one that helps me not miss pizza.
