I think many will appreciate my husband's rendition of Amazing Grace
http://vimeo.com/56334510
This is the last segment in a series our pastor did that my husband played an integral role in. The series is called "Reclaimed." The pastor asked my husband (who is a professional luthier -- guitar builder) to build a guitar from a piece of old walnut he had. There are short videos throughout the 4 part series that show various steps in the process, but you don't see who is building or what they are building. In this last segment, near the end, you finally see my husband's face as he shares some things and then he plays a really cool rendition of Amazing Grace. The whole series is very good and if anyone cares to watch it, the other segments are easily accessible. I feel that this is possibly my husband's finest moment. God blessed me with such a precious man, as you will see. :inlove:
I'd hope you could watch the whole thing, but my husband's part near the end is at 30:20.

Crick I am sitting here with tears of joy in my eyes. God has really been touching my heart lately with so much love and beauty. PLEASE PLEASE tell your husband that my ex was a musician and I have seen a LOT of Martins, Fenders and Les Paul's in my day. This guitar is more beautiful than all of them. His playing touched my heart so very much and I had a huge smile on my face at the end with the touch of SRV ending. He was and is still one of my favs. Your husband has an amazing talent both in his luthier skills and his playing. This truly made my night. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! Just absolutely beautiful!!!

LP and Linda, thank you so much. LP, Gerard is very talented and you can tell by his words on the video, he has a precious heart and loves the Lord so much. I am super blessed. He is snoring right now in his chair!! so I'll have to tell him later how much it blessed you. BTW, SRV is one of his favorites.
Pam, I hope you were able to see it! I guess I'm a bit prejudiced, but I watched it quite a few times the other day and was so blessed by it.
How about this new look to the website? I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it is so different looking! It's a new learning experience.

Crick- I watched it last night and was very touched! Your husband is extremely talented as a guitar builder, and as a performer. Thank you for the link. I'm not sure why I couldn't watch it the other night!
I'm getting used to the new look and functions of the boards. We have spell check now- that's a good thing because I'm a pretty pathetic typist!

Pam, so glad you were able to access the video and were touched by it. He really is gifted and knows where those gifts came from, so he stays humble about them. I think that's what I love the most about him.

Crick, I tried several days ago, and again now, but I can't get it to play. It says that I need a flash drive. I know it has to be good.

Wanda,
Is it a flash drive or flash player it is asking for?
Many videos run on the Adobe Flash Player. It is free.
Do a search and download it from the Adobe site.
Then the video will play.

Re: I think many will appreciate my husband's rendition of A
What a beautiful message and object lesson. My husband is also a musician, self taught and doesn't read music. He does the finger picking style, Rev. Gary Davis was one of his mentors. When we were married in 2004 he went to church, prayer meetings and played when we visited the nursing home. He even helped with vacation Bible school. He has returned to his old way of life and I feel like I'm living with a stranger. The only time we eat together is when we go to a restraunt, otherwise I serve him in his recliner while he watches TV. I know nothing is impossible with God, so I keep praying. Thanks for sharing the message and your husbands talents with us.

Oh, Omalani, I'm so sad too read that. I'll agree with you in prayer. As you know, now is not the time to draw away -- but to draw nearer. God's heart is for him to be drawn back to Him. Lord, hear the cry of Lani's heart and draw her husband back to You. Renew the joy of his salvation and give him the desire to walk with you daily. In Jesus' name we pray for this to be done. Amen!!
LP -- he is the only son. Sorry!! I can remember one day seeing a co-worker at the school I taught at on a rainy day. (Before I was married.) I saw her husband drive up and park and then get out the car with an umbrella and get her and escort her to the car. I specifically said, "Lord, is there another one like him?" Halfway joking, but serious too. My husband and this man truly look like they could be brothers -- and people have often gotten them confused. Someone came up to my husband at church one day asking how the baby was doing -- after they'd just had a baby. The other man is a pastor of another local church and he's been asked, "You're the guitar man, right?" Funny! So, you never know. God sees the desire of your heart. I thank Him all the time for the blessing He's given me in this man who loves Him and also loves me. When a man loves God first, he can love his wife best.

Crick- I don't know you very good yet, but listened to your husbands song. It was beautiful and truly inspired of God. I love how you all love God. My husband and I have a ministry and he plays the twelve string and I play the piano. We love to hear people play and sing. Especially with an anointing like your husband. God bless you real big.

How true!!! Every day, I give thanks for my husband. God does look upon our hearts, not the outward appearance. He is a faithful God. Praying for Lani's desire. JF

Re: I think many will appreciate my husband's rendition of A
Thank you all for your prayers. Before LDL I was very unhappy and the only thing that kept me from getting a divorce is, I know he can not take care of himself and he would end up on one of our 2 daughters doorsteps. He lived near our oldest DD before we were married in 2004 and had a full time job, but he was fired several months before we were married and he was fighting for unemployment which he finally recieved but it was about the same amount as the Attorney he hired to get it. He moved to Lawton, Ok. where I live and had trouble finding work. He finally retired and gets more social security than he would make with a minimum wage job, which is all they pay for security in this area. Nothing has changed much, except I am happy now. I feel good about myself and I am healthier. I am looking forward to retiring and having more time in the gym. I also want to go on a mission trip, one in the states and one in Mexico. I am hoping he will get out the Autoharp and guitar and make some music again. I have known him since we were HS seniors and he has a big heart, I know that man I married twice is in there somewhere. Our relationship is slowly changing but there are some things we will never agree upon. I know my attitudes need to change as well, and I know that with God, all things are possible. Aloha Leilani

Crick you are so right about that! I have actually put my order in already. LOL! God, apparently, has different plans for me right now. I am just letting him love me till he sends my man of God to me.
