I may have to invest in a juicer. What is the best one for living out of your car? I am letting go of my stuff and selling my house and plan to travel and visit my kids and grandkids. I am singing "Let it go" a little song I learned from my granddaughter age 8. Living life in the slow lanes and letting go of the things that tie me down. Excess weight is one of those things.

hi. I dont like a juicer it removes all the pulp and fiber and you have a thin juice. I gave mine away. I then bought a vitamix hich makes juice out of whatever you put in it. The flavour is great and you get the full benefit of the pricey fruit you just bought. But I guess it is just my opinion.

Let me say this, you could not possably eat the amount of vegetables it would take to make 20 oz of juice. Blending is another way to go with less vitamins and nutrients and more carbs.

Omi,
We had a converter for the car when we traveled across county many times. You just plug it into the cigarette lighter and can plug in anything. We used to have some pretty fantastic Tail Gate Parties back in the day! Now, it stays in the wheel well if we ever have a need for it. It'll be there.
:ymhug: :ymhug:

Snowbirdie,
I just PUT IT all in my vitamix and let 'er rip. I add water and it comes out looking like any organic juice in a bottle.
Some days I make it thicker than others, some days I add ice, some days I don't, some days it's all veggies and some days it's veggie and fruit. but usually just veggies because I still do a fruit smoothie when ever I want one.
I buy organic now along with grass fed beef. This has ended up being less expensive for me. I buy less but eat more. Gotta love that! Now that I use the peels and all. I get all the fiber I need. I think we can all do with a little bit more fiber. At, least I can...
I still have whole steamed veggies with meals too or big chunks in my stews/soups. I am just one of those that thinks "One can't get to many veggies" Especially when it's all veggie and nothing else, i.e., milk, cream, yogurt etc. Just veggies and water is how I like it now.
Green is my favorite color but now I eat all the colors of the rainbow. Yummy!

Thanks for all the good input. I think I will do it your way Joe because we will be traveling for over a week to Canada and up the AlCan hwy. I could stop at health food stores along the way and get juice as I need it. What brands do you recommend or do you buy it from Jamba juice or whole foods? Does Walmart have any prepared juices? I am sure there will be some when we get out of Oklahoma. This is the worst place I can imagine for trying to eat healthy, southern cooking is not generally low fat, low carb and sugar and salt are the most popular spices. I'm looking forward to a juicy vacation.

Just got home from the YMCA where I did 3 miles on the stationary bike and 1 hour water walking and interval aerobics. The pool temp has warmed up to 78 degrees, so my body was busy trying to maintain it's core temp. I missed breakfast this morning but had some chicken fajita at 1030 and a few fries from my friends order. I will do lunch at about 3PM and have popcorn and smoothie for dinner.

I go to Robeks and Jamba Juice most of the time. A health food store when I can. In a pinch I grab an Odawa carrot juice in a supermarket. If you get juices from the refrigerator section of the market be sure to read the labels. On the outside you see pictures of veggies but in the list of ingredients fruit juice is the bulk of the drink.

Amen Brother!
When I don't eat before I go shopping. The first place in the store I go too is Odawa juice section:
Choose, read, GULP!! sip on the rest as I shop. This holds me over until I get home. Making it possible to put the groceries away and prepare a nice healthy dinner. Oh, also keeps me from "binge" buying. I also love the Kale and spinach one. That's yummy!
There is a good selection in our market. No added sugars, preservatives etc. You do have to look out for any expiration date, some do have them and the "grocers" don't take them off the shelf's in time.
