seeking clarity

i just started LDL and feel like this may really be the answer i've been looking for. here is my question, though...i work as an xray tech at a local hospital and i'm always running wide open at work. i get HUNGRY before lunch. SICK HUNGRY. and i've been wanting fruit for a snack. the book says no fruit between meals because of burnout.. but, i love fruit. can i eat a piece between meals if it's what i'm really wanting? I love the smoothies for breakfast and dinner by the way.
