Roger, praying for you, Neets, and your mother. I've been there, and decisions are hard to make. It's great you still have her. JF

Wow, Mary, we really will be praying for all of you. How tough for Harrison and you. Let me agree with Roger too about how neat Harrison is....just breaks my heart that he is going through this and lost so much weight. We all will be praying, especially Collin, who speaks of Harrison often.
Love,
Julie

Hi Jeterfan.
Tahini is sesame seed paste. It's one of the ingredients in most of the hummus varieties you find in the grocery stores. Since seeds and nuts aren't on the list of LDL approved ingredients, we generally make hummus without it. I actually prefer the flavor without it. But if you are in a spot where you can't make your own hummus for one reason or another, buying it in the store with the tahini in it is a lot better choice than some other things you could indulge in. While it's important to read labels and avoid things that don't help us lose weight, it's also important to be able to eat something that is a reasonably good choice when you are hungry.
Enjoy the journey!
