Re: Thinking About CHANGING the Subtitle of the Book...What Do You Think?
Roger,
I'm not sure I would buy a diet book with the word "hard" on the cover. Most people wanting to lose weight might shy away from it because of that word. How about using the words "stabilizing carbs"?
Just a thought!

I agree with both statements. "Hard" would be off-putting in a title and I would just pass if up.

I agree the word hard would cause people to shy away from the book. I like the healthy carb idea.

Some might consider potatoes to be healthy carbs, but I like it.
Slow to digest is a better description but not sure it is catchy enough for a subtitile.
Maybe a different subtitle:
A healthy, whole food, anti-inflamatory eating plan that also reshapes your body to the healthy weight you need to be.
I know that statement is too long but maybe you can glean from it. I like the way LDL reshapes the body. I have lost inches in places I have never lost before. I can spot someone a mile away who is "skinny" from Gastric bypass. The places the weight falls off especially the face is pretty consitent. The places the weight falls off with LDL is "just right."

Well, you can't put everything in a title and subtitle, otherwise no one would need to read the book!
I like "healthy carbs" and as soon as they read the book, they'll find out that potatoes are not allowed. Right? I guess some people are misled by "eat all the carbs you want" but it doesn't mean that you can eat all the carbs of any kind you want. You can eat all the carbs you want, but not all the carbs of any type. That would mean you could eat all the refined sugars and flours and that is crazy to think you could lose weight doing that.

Benefiial or good carbs sounds good. So does healthy carbs.
I am amazed at what some people consider carbs though. I was describing what I eat and don't eat and the reply is, oh that is the low carb diet! My response is, how do you figure? Fruit, beans and veggies are carbs and we eat them in large quatities!

Re: Thinking About CHANGING the Subtitle of the Book...What Do You Think?
Some people don't really know what foods are considered carbs, fats or proteins. My husband really had no clue at first, because he'd never been on a "diet" before we'd did South Beach together. I remember being so surprised he didn't get it. He's very smart -- but if you haven't really been exposed to something, you don't know about it. He'd have known butter was a fat, of course, but some things he didn't quite know what category they'd be in.

Crick,
LOL, those comments were from Medical people
Somehow carbs got such a bad rap that some people now think that bread and pasta and baked deserts are "carbs!"

Re: Thinking About CHANGING the Subtitle of the Book...What Do You Think?
My new favorite is "beneficial carbs." That term in the sub-title would make me pick up the book and look up the definition of beneficial carbs.
"Oh! I see! They are healthy carbs that stabilize my blood sugar and don't make me hungry. All the fruit I want. And popcorn?! I can have popcorn. I am going to buy this book and try this plan. It sounds like bliss!"
For me, beneficial carbs is a winner. Pam

I liked healthy carbs but I think when I just saw beneficial carbs that would make me pick up the book and be interested.
