Quick update: Today I went back to the my General Practitioner for a check-up, and she said I am doing wonderful. It’s been almost 7 months since my operation, and I have lost 125 pounds. And the most fantastic thing about it - I haven’t been hungry because I am eating LDL style. Which means I am eating more then normal patients do, yet I am still loosing more weight then most people who had the similar procedure. Plus she said, while my cholesterol level is a little “high”, it’s still in the “safe” zone, and she truly feels it will drop more and more as I loose weight. I am now 100% medication free (and I have been for 3 months).

I praise GOD for all he has done for me, and I thank Roger and all you wonderful people who have helped me along my journey !! I love you all !!

It is always great when we show our doctors just what LDL can do for their patients!  Enough of them seeing what LDL does, should help us to take LDL WORLD~WIDE!!!

Anyone who lives their lives (with the help of medicine) and wants to no longer have to take them should read your post, Tom!!  That is so great.....no more meds!  My dream.  I've always assumed it would happen in Resurrection life, but now you give me hope for the here and now.  Yippee!!!

Ahhhhh - Tom!!!!!  So glad to hear your updated news...  I, like the others here, am not surprised to hear your report - eating more, yet still losing - doing much better than others that had the same surgery...  nope, no surprise...

And I know that your battle is still on-going - perhaps always will be... but you are concious of it - and that's awesome.  I always told my kids that they could do anything as long as they knew what they were up against - same principle...  and off all meds!!!    again, WONDERFUL!!!

Speaking of Tom posting new pics, would it be possible to return all the avatars to the large size they were before the current improvements to the boards were made?  Tom's is so small now, you can't see his handsome face OR the amazing number of pounds he is down.

Also, would like to see the "huh" smiley face put back that pops in when you key multiple question marks.  Like this ...  ?? ???????

Tom, I am new here but just wanted to say that your story encourages me and gives me hope.  I also hope to get off medications in time and so happy you were able to accomplish that.

Hi Gwen,

I put the size for the avatars down because having larger pictures makes the boards load much more slowly, and it uses up more bandwidth. For efficiency sake, it is best to leave the avatars small.

As for the "Huh" avatar, I will look into it when I have some time. (:
