Dear Roger,
Back 15 years ago I had a heart attack due to an artery glogged up
on the backside of my heart. The other arteries took over so nothing
was done. I was put on medication to slow my heart down so that the
other arteries could do the work. I also had been a smoker and had
to quit, which I did but, over a span of 3 years after that I
managed to put on 10 lbs. a year and found myself with 30 lbs on me.
Needless to say I was so upset due to the fact that I had been a
bodybuilder prior to the heart attack and was very particular
about what kind of shape I was in. I remember crying every morning
when I would try to tie my shoes I had a hard time breathing. I got
so upset I started eating nothing much except salads and I kept on
gaining weight. Even the Doctor said well, maybe you should cut the
amout of food you eat in half. I told him I would starv. Then after
watching Mary Simmons, a girl I worked with, had gained an awful lot
of weight when she got pregnant. She had told me about not a diet
but, a new way of eating and of course my answer to her was I
have tried everything. Well, after seeing her eat like there was no
tomorrow and losing weight left and right I figured I better find
how she did it. She gave your first book "Lets Do Lunch" to me and I
began to read and thought well, I would try it with no excerise and
see if it worked. I was gonna give it the real test. At first my
weight loss was nothing, I almost gave up but, the more I understood
how to eat right I started to lose the weight. It was slow at first,
between my condition and the medication I got a slow start. Soon
enough I was so use to the new way of eating it became a habit and
before I knew it the weight was gone. I have been maintaining
an acceptable weight. Each year my heart specialist says whatever
you are doing keep doing it. My health is great and my weight goes
from 138 to 143lbs.
I just turned 60 and I am very thankful I found Mary, you and the
right way to eat.
I went from 135 to 170 lbs in 3 years and from 170 to 135lbs. in about 7 mos.
I hope this gives your readers something to think about and remember
don't give up.
God Bless
Sharon

Sharon,
What an awesome story! So glad LDL was your "saving grace" and brought your weight under control. It's such a wonderful way of eating, and the weight just falls off. I've tired everything, and this is such a blessing!
Congrats and "here's to good health" for many, many years to come
God Bless,
Doreen
