CQ,
When I bought the Frydaddy for DH to take on the job site, he was working outside in zero or subzero weather.
Salad was not exactly what he wanted.....he wanted meat and potatoes!!! and a few carrots in the mix!
Before LDL I was on a salad kick so kinda burned out on them now, but with summer coming on, guess I will have to bring the fixin's with mixed beans to top it.

Can't say I blame him....I'd want something hot, too....like a BIG BOWL of chili.
I try to make different types of salads so I don't get bored with the same thing...Mexican/Southwestern, Cobb, Chef, Greek, etc.

CQ - you mentioned a salad dressing you make yourself and take to work. Do you have a special recipe for the salad dressing you make?
SneakySnoopy - this chili sounds really good. I'll have to try it.

JerrieH,
I have two favorites:
1) 3/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup Balsamic vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 tablespoon fresh chopped garlic), 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2) 1 cup olive oil, 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon garlic (or a couple of fresh chopped garlic cloves), 1 teaspoon Himalayan salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
I just put enough dressing for the salad into a small glass container with a screw cap (small enough to fit into a Ziploc baggie to make sure there are no leaks in my purse).
