3 pounds ground beef
1-1/2 cups chopped onions
1-1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 cans (16oz each) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
2 cans (15oz each) tomato sauce
2 cups beef broth (I made it with chicken broth)
1/4 cup chili powder
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 square (1oz) unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
1-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1-1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Step 1 - Cook the beef, onions and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
Step 2 - In a 5qt. slow cooker, combine the beans, tomato sauce, broth, chilipower, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, chocolate, cinnamon, cumin, salt, oregano, pepper and cloves. Stir in beef mixture.
Step 3 - Cover and cook on low for 5 1/2 to 6 hours or until heated through. Serve with spaghetti,k garnish with cheese and green onions if desired.
Some people eat this like spaghetti sauce. it is fine alone without the pasta. It taste great the next day too.
I hope you like this easy, tasty recipe as much as I do.

Re: Slow Cooker - Cincinnati Chili
Thanks, we lived in Cincinnati for 3 yrs., and I never heard of the Chili, but they did have hotdogs that had sauce--Can't think of the name, but it became a chain. I will make this, because it makes so much, so could freeze some of it. Good luck on your running. I may enter a half marathon walk in November if I can get my endurance to last. I walk a lot, but 13 miles---will have to get with it. Joyful Friend

Joyful Friend, the two restaurants that serve the Cincinnati Chili are Skyline and Gold Star. They are now both chains in Ohio. Don't know if they are in any other states. They both also serve hot dogs. I like Skyline better than Gold Star.

Boy, the Cincinnati chili is different. Guess I got used to the SW style Chili. DH liked it (I was surprised), but he did mention that if you threw in some raisins and poured it in a pie crust, it would be a great minced meat chili pie!
