Spinach-Feta Chicken Burgers

Post by VickiLynn »

1 lb. ground chicken- make sure it's ground skinless chicken BREAST meat!
1 package (9 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
2/3 cup reduced-fat feta cheese crumbles
2 tsp. dried oregano
1 Tbs. crushed Wasa Crispbread
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

Mix all ingredients until well blended.  Shae into 4 equal size patties. Coat patties with nonstick cooking spray.  Grill burgers for 6 minutes, flip burgers and cook another 6 minutes.

Mary,

Once again, thanks for keeping me LDL honest!  Yes, I use ground chicken breast, but the only kind I can buy at my grocery store is 97% fat free.  Next time I need ground chicken, I'll ask the butcher at the store if they would grind up chicken breasts for me.  Would this help?

Mary,
Thanks for clarifying the ground chicken...  does this also apply to ground turkey?  I guess even reading the labels on meats is a good idea....
