THIS GOES OUT TO ALL WHO ARE THINKING ABOUT TRYING THIS (DIET) NEW WAY OF EATTING. AT CHRISTMAS OF 2008, I WAS TIPPING THE SCALES AT 502 POUNDS,

I WAS ALL BUT BED RIDDEN, WALKING ONLY TO THE BATHROOM AND THE KITCHEN. FOR A CHRISTMAS GIFT I RECIEVED A COPY OF A BOOK CALLED LETS DO LUNCH.I WAS VERY DEPRESSED ABOUT MY WEIGHT AND MY LIFE.

I HAD GREW UP PLAYING FOOTBALL AND WRESTLING FOR MY JR. AND SR. HIGH SCHOOL AND I NEVER LET MY EXTRA WEIGHT GET IN THE WAY OF HAVING FUN, BUT IN 2001 I TURNED 40 AND MY LIFE TURNED FOR THE WORST.

I WAS WEIGHTING 600 POUNDS AND WAS STARTING TO SLOW DOWN, I TRYED ALOT OF DIETS AND I LOST 98 POUNDS IN 7 YRS. BUT NOW I WAS 47 AND IN PAIN. MY JOINTS COULD NOT STAND THE PRESSURE ANYMORE.

OVER THE LAST 7 YRS. I HAD TWICE ALMOST LOST MY LIFE TO WEIGHT RELATED ILLNESSES. IN 2004 I HAD A STENT PUT IN MY HEART AND IN 2007 I ALMOST DIED WITH CARBON DIOXIDE POSIONING, CAUSED BY SEVERE SLEEP APNEA.

SO WHEN I GOT THIS BOOK I WAS NOT SURE WHAT TO THINK ABOUT IT.BUT A FEW DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS I BEGAN THE FIRST STEP IN A LONG WALK.

SO I WENT AND WEIGHTED, MY STARTING WEIGHT WAS 502 POUNDS AND I PROMISED MYSELF AND ROGER THAT I WOULD STAY ON THIS (DIET) NEW WAY OF EATTING UNTIL I WEIGHED AGAIN.

I DID NOT CHEAT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND ON MARCH 17, 2009 I MADE MY FIRST WEIGH IN AND TO MY SIRPRIZE I NOW WEIGHED 420 THAT WAS A 82 POUND WEIGHT LOSS.

SINCE THEN I AM WALKING BETTER AND I EVEN WENT FISHING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MANY YEARS. THE PROGRAM WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JOIN ME IN THIS LONG WALK. WITH ROGER AND LDL FRIENDS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WALK ALONE.

GET THE BOOK, GET STARTED AND LETS WALK TO A NEW YOU.  GOOD LUCK!   TTYL NEEDWIFE

--- Julie, your reply to NeedWife was timely; he (and you) posted yesterday. But your reply to Shannon (Mike) may not be read by her, as it comes more than 2 years after she posted...

You're right NJ   I don't get the timestamp on my BlackBerry.  Oh well, if Shannon is anything like me, she will come back to LDL eventually and my encouragement for her will be there

Needwife's post was so amazing....83lbs!....made me browse back and I obviously hadn't in a while.

Blessings,
Julie

Hello everyone,

I am new to the boards and I am an herbal nutritionist. This is my first time hearing of this diet book and radical eating plan.  One of my clients found this article in the magazine,  “First - June 2009” and brought it to my attention.  She wanted to know what I thought about it.  Well, after reading the article some of it sounds healthy but the rest I am not so sure about.  I know that everyone thinks that the low-carb diets are healthy but in fact some are not.  I told her I could not give her an honest answer just from reading the article and I would order the book and after reading it I would let her know.  There are so many quick weight loss (unhealthy) programs out there that you will loose weight on in the beginning but not keep it off over the long hall.  So I will investigate more and report back with my findings.  Any input is more than welcome.

Many Blessings,

GTrip

HI Roger,
I received my book last night. WOW, it must take you a while to personally autograph every one!
Thank you for your inspiration and guidance. I love your positive spirit and the spirit these boards are written in. Everyone is fantastic and it is all cuz of you!
( and of course divine influence!)
I am diving in and going to have great after pictures to post!

Hi Everyone,

I just started on this program two days ago. I completed the book and so far, I have made my shopping list! I am quite optimistic that this will be my last investment in any diet materials by God's grace - meaning, I am resolved to stick with LDL and see the results and also have my own testimony. I am struggling with 2 things - when are the recommended times one should eat breakfast and lunch? Also, is non-dairy creamer allowed in this program? Any responses are highly appreciated?

I don't eat at a specific time.  When you get started, you can eat any time you are hungry. :)  Cool, hunh?  You want to deal with your cravings first.  Let me tell you the neatest thing that has happened to me.  I did lose weight in the first month, but my last 3 weeks I've been losing at a faster pace than in the beginning.  Have you ever heard of such a thing???  Never happened to me before.  You see, you want to deal with the cravings first, then you can eat just fruit for breakfast and dinner with your big complete protein meal at lunch.  I've been on it for 8 weeks and lost 18 lbs.  Depending on the amount you have to lose, you can lose even faster.  I've noticed a lot of people lose about 10 lbs. a month.  Anyway, once the weight is off, I rejoice because I have this confidence that I'll never be that weight again.  You can live with this way of eating.  I call it a livet and not a diet.  *love*

I have a feeling the non dairy creamer is a no no.  It probably has sugar or fat or something.  Read the ingredients.  I used to drink hot tea in the morning with evaporated milk and I'd decided I'd follow everything LDL, but I wasn't going to give this up.  Well, once I got started, I had my tea and evaporated milk maybe 3 times.  I just got to where I didn't need it.  Then I started walking every morning, and who wants hot tea when you get back from a walk?  My lifestyle has totally changed.

Rusticwildchild -- you are going to love it.  There is no need to go hungry and feel deprived.  The weight really does come off.  Read the book a few times and make sure you eat lots of fruit to cut the sweet cravings down.  Also eating beans helps cut the craving for starch -- I think that was my big craving downfall.  I don't crave anything much, now.  It makes it easy to stick to the plan.

Hi all,

I am new to the Message Board and fairly new to the LDL program. I have doing LDL since October 13th and have lost 24 lbs. What really amazes me is that I have not had flour, grains, or sugar since Oct 13th and don't want it!!! I look at all the holiday goodies and think "NO THANKS!!"

Merry Christmas to all.

Ollie,
The sweets don't bother me at all. I was at a wedding yesterday. I chose my entree's carefully. After the cake had been cut, a lady came over to offer me a piece of cake. I said "No, thank you." She was fine with it and gave the piece to someone else. I remember eating a piece of cake and feeling bloated and miserable. Now I can skip that whole yuk feeling.
