Apple Pie Smoothie

Here's a yummy twist on smoothies, if you love apple pie! (:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 peeled, chopped apple (freeze if you like your smoothie thick!)
  • 1 cup 100% apple juice, non-sweetened
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg

Control the consistency by adding more or less chopped apple. This will cure any sweet tooth you might have left. ;)

Hi Tori:  I just made your apple pie smoothie and it
was great.  Anytime you have a desire to eat apple
pie, this fits the bill.  I used apple pie spice instead of
the cinnamon because I happened to have it.  It was
really good.  Tasted like apple pie a la mode.

i wonder if during the winter if you add a little more apple to the smoothie for thickeness and then warm up the smoothie in a sauce pan and top sprinkle in a few raisins if this could be like an oatmeal substitute? I have not tried this but I am always looking for new things.

Richard, if you use more apples it definitely thickens it up. Kind of like a very healthy, filling applesauce. Heating it and adding a few raisins sounds wonderful! I might have to give it a try ... Thanks for the idea!
