Dreamy Creamy Orange Vanilla Smoothie
Tastes like an Orange Julius but Oh So Much Healthier!!!
1 cup orange juice
1/2 frozen banana (frozen when still on the greenish side)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 ice cubes
Add ingredients to blender and whip until smooth and dreamy creamy!
Note: If the banana is on the riper side, the smoothie will taste like orange banana, but for the more orange taste use bananas that are barely ripe, still greenish. They are more LDL friendly anyway!!!

Welcome, michelevalencia!
This looks very delicious for a breakfast smoothie.
Please make sure that you read the ingredients for the orange juice and vanilla extract. Most brands have added sugar. Simply Orange is a brand that some of us are using that doesn't have added sugar. I haven't looked for an extract since I'm not baking anymore but the one I use to use had added corn syrup and is very well known.

Sounds yummy.......I will try to make it using a vanilla bean instead of the Vanilla extract.

EE GADS! I thought extracts were flavoring plus alcohol but both the pure and the imitation have sugar or corn syrup.....I guess I'll be looking for an alternative there. My OJ is Langers and it has no added sugar so I'm good there!!!
If anyone knows of vanilla extract without sugar, please inform!!!!!! It looks like Amazon sells it and an online store called Nature's Flavors.... for future reference.

michelevalencia,
I actually never gave it much thought until my husband brought it to my attention. If you find one that doesn't have added sugar please post it for us.

Re: Dreamy Creamy Orange Vanilla Smoothie
Just some amateur radio operator trivia:
When you are looking for someone to 'talk' to on the amateur radio frequencies using morse code you use the term "seek you" or "cq" (sounds the same).
Also, when we are shopping with my foster-dad and get separated, we listen for him to whistle "cq" in morse code [da-di-da-dit da-da-di-dah] to find each other in the store.

Enjae,
The next time I'm in the grocery store and a ole man whistles at me I'll have to make sure it's not Morse code. That way I want feel so bad ignoring him..
