Apple Dream

2 lbs Apples, peeled, seeded and sliced
2 Eggwhites
Sweetener equivalent to 3 Tbs Sugar
Vanilla
Usually you put some Kirsch in there but we are good guys and leave it out....

Preheat oven to 390°

Lay the appleslices on a baking sheet and cook them for about 45 minutes, till there are soft
...or just nuke them...

Strain the apples through a colander and let it cool down.

Beat the eggwhites with the sweetener till its stiff, around 10 minutes

Mix the Vanilla into the Applepuree, fold the eggwhites under and


Enjoy....

Are you using vanilla bean? Or did you find a vanilla flavoring that is LDL?  I have a huge bottle of PURE vanilla extract in my cabinet and SUGAR is listed in the ingredients so I no longer use it - !?#$%&.  (pure - my butt) I never looked at the ingredients list before. I was adding it to so many things and patting myself on the back bc I wasn't eating sugar - duh!

Hi Julie,

i make my own Vanilla extract by taking 5 vanilla beans, slice them open and
put them in 2 cups vodka.
Let it sit for about 3 weeks in a dark, cool place...
When you get low on it just add a little vodka...

or you can buy it at morton and basset ,( www.worldpantry.com)
but i think it is very expensive , like $ 14 for 4 oz...

or just put the beans in stevia, it works in dried stevia too

I think this will be my last question bc I really want to make this. Is this a make and eat immediately dessert?  I would think so bc of the egg whites but the quantity suggests you may be able to save it for later.

Hi Mary and Julie,

we just use vodka bc is almost tasteless. You can
use any kind of alcohol that doesn't have any strong flavor.
