chewy granola bars

Post by sherrylynn »

I made my children some chewy bars this weekend.  I tried to do it all ldl friendly.  They love them...

1 cup of raisin bran
2 cup of old fashion oats
1/2 cup fat free evap milk
1/2 cup natural apple sauce
spash of vanilla
tsp cinnamon.

350* 25-30 minutes.

They love them.  I put them in baggies, tucked them in the fridge.  They get them when they are needing a snack.

Sherrylynn,

I hope these are only for your children to eat because they are not for you if you want to lose weight.  Once in a great, great while I have the old fashioned Shredded Wheat (the big rectangular ones) with a sliced banana, some skim milk and Splenda.  My husband eats his by adding water, heating it in the microwave and then he has a banana or some other fresh fruit on top.

Yes, they were for the children.  I am trying to find a way to replace the junk they eat. lol...  Little at a time.  Thank you for all your support.
