Orange Hummus

Post by Ginny M. »

I like hummus but cannot eat it much or often with the garlic.  So I got to thinking, chickpeas are fairly mild and what else would go with them?  I had just made an orange sauce for a meal and had lots of orange zest left over, so I thought . . . Why Not!?!  Here's my recipe.

  ORANGE HUMMUS

  1 can chickpeas, drained                      2 T. lemon juice                      2 T. water
  1 T. olive oil                                      2 T. Orange juice                    3 T. orange zest

Mix all in food processor (Ninja).  Enjoy!  :D

Linda,  I just couldn't take all the hummus I made with mostly garlic.  I like garlic but just couldn't take too much when mixed with the chickpeas.  Play with the orange juice and zest to suit your taste.  *love*  Let me know what you think.
