Husband's surgery tomorrow (Monday)

Hi All,
My husband, Jim, is having a hip revision surgery tomorrow morning and we would sure appreciate your prayers.  He was injured in a horse accident when he was 14 years old and had his first hip replacement 25 years ago.  That joint now needs to be replaced and it will be more complicated than the first surgery.  He will probably be in the hospital most of the week.  We have lots of people praying and we have a peace that God is in control.

Jim has been faithfully doing LDL for a couple of weeks now and plans to continue during his time in the hospital and recovery.  He is a wonderful husband and I am so proud of him.

I will be staying at the hospital and will keep you posted on his recovery.

Thank you!

Beth

Prayers and many blessings to you both.
You will have many opportunities to share LDL with those you come in contact while you are there.
Sharing LDL is sharing God's love for us in that inspite of the way we have missused the food he provided for us as nourishment,
He still is leading us back.

Thank you Wendy and Linda, we appreciate your prayers.  The surgery was complicated but went very well.  The doctor was very concerned that Jim's pelvis might break during surgery but it didn't. Because of this he only replaced the liner of the old replacement joint.  Unfortunately they don't make the liners that fit his joint anymore so it's not a perfect fit, but it seemed the best option. He removed about a pound of bone fragment debris (he had a medical term for it).  Jim sat in a chair and ate a light ldl dinner and then walked 3 laps around the hallway and would like to walk more before going to sleep.  The spinal tap hasn't worn off yet and he has not had any pain.

There is a kitchen here so we have some grapes freezing and we are right across the street from a grocery store with a wonderful salad bar.  He is really looking forward to having a smoothie tomorrow for breakfast.  He has read the book and been on the website. I'm so proud of him!!!  We went on a two mile walk this morning (he was on crutches) before we came to the hospital.  I am so happy he is doing everything in his power to help his recovery.

Thank you!  Pain management has sure improved since his last replacement 25 years ago!  He is still doing well and has been walking a lot and sitting up a lot too.  He's doing a great job of sticking to LDL too!
