Father Passed On Yesterday

NJ here.
Haven't been on the boards much due to the West Texas Fair and Rodeo and how my line of work coincides with it...  (I'm not explaining that very well...  Oh well.)
Anyway yesterday I got a call and learne dmy father had a heart attach after lunch yeasterday. The emergency crew worked on him for over an hour with no success.
Please pray for my step-mother and my brothers and me as we wade through the next few days...

NJ, I'm so sorry.  I lost my dad 21 years ago last month.  I was 29 yrs. old, but at any age it is hard.  Surely will keep you in prayer and all the others in your family.

I'm home again.

We never have heard from our younger brother. Everyone left messages for him.

My father had a heart attack after lunch on Wednesday. He was gone before the EMT crew arrived. They worked an hour to try to resuscitate him.  One of my step-sisters arrived to stay Wednesday night with her mother.

Then my brother, sister-in-law, foster-dad and I arrived late Thursday. We viewed the body. Helped plan the memorial service. (He chose cremation.)

Friday we went through his stuff and cleared things out so my step-mother would not have to deal with it.

Saturday the entire day was spent with incoming extended family. Had a beautiful service.

Sunday we spent a few hours with my step-mother and -sister. Packed up the vehicles and headed home. Got in at Midnight.

Today we unloaded the furniture, boxes, etc. that we'll have to still sort through and disperse.


I am tired.
Numb.
I feel like an orphan, with BOTH natural parents gone; but I still have my extended family, my step-family and my foster-family.

Glad you are safely home.  When I lost my dad, the grief came in waves.  I think God is so good to us, to give us time to heal.  He is gentle with us and helps us through.  My prayers are with you.  You'll heal, but you'll never forget; and that's as it should be.
