Please keep us in your thoughts today. We have to take our cat, Pretty Girl, back to the vet today so he can check her ear. What I'm worried about is that it looks like it has started to effect the other ear, too. He's pretty sure its cancer. I have a feeling we might not be bringing her home. :'(

It's so hard to lose a family pet. They truly do become your best friend. It was 2 years ago that we lost Missy girl do to cancer of the bladder.......... She was only 5 beautiful air dale, so loving I think of her often still. She is truly missed. I have other dogs but none can ever be replaced as they have their own personalities. I know she is waiting on the other side. Best of luck to you and pretty girl..........You will be in my thoughts.......... *hug*

[color=red]UPDATE: Just got back from the vet, and Pretty Girl is coming back home with us, at least for the time being. The dr is checking for some kind of skin allergies that sometimes mimic the skin cancer. He gave her two injections, and wants to see her back in 10 days. If she is not better, then we will have a very hard decision to make.

Wendy me too ..........animals can be a big part of your life. They are so devoted. Mine really give me a lot of happeness. I just get so sad when I have to say goodbye....It's really like losing a family member. So I really feel the pain of this and I hope PRETTY GIRL IS GOING TO BE OK....WITHER

So far, Pretty Girl is responding to the injections the dr gave her on Friday. Which very well may mean that what we are dealing with is not cancer after all, but extreme skin allergies. The dr said, "If it is cancer, she will not respond to these shots."....Her ear is almost back to normal, all the redness, and scabiness are going away. SO WE ARE HOPEFUL. Just taking one day at a time right now.

So glad about Pretty Girl. Country Girl has 4 inside cats--all lovely. I have 3 dogs with me right now. I have Country Girl's and our granddaughter's until they get home from Fla. The cats stayed home, and friends are feeding and etc. We love animals. :thumbsup:

Yes, Pretty Girl is pretty again! Almost completely healed. I'm still crossing my fingers that all we're dealing with is allergies. I'll be taking her back to the vet in a week or two.
