I haven't been on the boards for over a week as my mom had emergency surgery for colon cancer, so I'm out of town looking after her.

Please pray for my mom as she recovers from her surgery and weighs her treatment options.  Thanks.

I sure wish these Moms didnt have to go through all of this as they try to enjoy their Golden Years. I am glad your Mom is feeling better Mary. Maybe she could whisper a little prayer for my Mom.. she is 88 and hoping the Cancer hasnt come back.. in hosp now taking tests today.  Thanks Mary.. prayers going up for all in need at this time.

Kathy and Mary, it is difficult to see our moms suffer; however, if it weren't for God's grace we would all succumb under the pressure or sadness. My mom went to heaven when she was almost 90, 11 yrs ago, and I still long for a hug.  It's strange what sometimes triggers it.  I will pray for both mothers.  and    JF

So glad your mom is more herself...it was really hard to think of her not even wanting to speak with friends over the phone.  I'll be praying for those test results.

Oh, Mary and Kathie, I'm so sorry for you and your moms.  Even though Mom is 84, I surely want her around longer.  Like, she hasn't been feeling well today and it gets me a bit nervous thinking where it can lead.  I don't think it is serious.  You just worry sometimes.  I remind myself, "Do not fret, it only causes harm!"  (Psalm 37:8 )  If it continues, then I'll get in touch with the doctor.  You just hate to see them sickly.

Father God, please care for our mothers.  Use us where we can be a blessing to them, but overall we need You to touch them.  You are the Great Physician and you care for us all.  We trust you with our lives and with our loved ones' lives.  In Jesus' name, Amen!
