Hi,
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good quality accurate scale?
Thanks!

Sorry I don't. If I had a scale at home I'd use it too much. lol

I just go to my doctor's office once a month and weigh there. No charge for hopping onto their scale.

Hi T4T! Here's one I found "out there" on the net on a couple of opinion sites. It's Sunbeam's Health O Meter Large Dial Bathroom Platform Scale 147KD90. This is a regular dial scale and it has little markers that you can slide around the dial to mark your previous weight, goal weight, etc.  I do not have this myself, but I'll say that I don't recommend digital ones as the batteries seem to die out too quickly and it's way too easy to get so hung up on those .3 pounds, .17 pounds etc. values on the more precise digital scales. It can really drive ya nuts! We don't need to be so precise as our weight changes daily, even when at goal, no matter what you do. Better to go by how your clothes are fitting, anyway, but we know how the human animal loves to see those numbers on the scale go down! Good luck to you! :) .... NYKath

Hi teafortwo, For what it is worth, I agree with enjae about the doctor's office.  I too weigh at the docs office for two reasons. #1 I would probably have a tendency to weigh to often if I had scales at home, and #2 I know that their scales are correct and are callebrated everyday.  I don't know how far you live from your docs office, but if it is convenient you might want to try it... Mike - mine just sits in the corner, where I ignore it daily!  LOL!

T4T - I have a Tanita and it's the most accurate scale I've ever owned.  You can put the feet on the bottom for either bare floor or for carpet (it's been so long that I don't remember if there were two sets or what).... anyway, I bought it at BJ's (like Sam's and/or Costco) about 5 years ago.  I've replaced the batteries only once.

One reason I love it - you can step on it one time or twenty times in a row, and it gives you the same weight every time.  Another reason I love it - it weighs me exactly the same as my doctor's scale.  This is the only scale I've ever had that did this.

The model I bought is probably not even sold any more, but this company makes great scales...  just my two cents...

Queenie you have great will power!  How can you ignore your scales when they are sitting there screaming "use me".  Mike

There are scales everywhere! You just have to know how to read them:

Clothing sizes, staircases, mirrors, seeing your feet again, the spring in your step, muscle and back aches, energy levels, cholesterol, snoring............................all these things are "scales" used to measure our success and of them all, weight can be the most deceiving.

While I do agree with you about the scales...it's sure nice to see them finally going the "Left direction" instead of the "Right" (meaning going down instead of up!!)
I unfortunately have a scale at work and want to get on every day! However I think I may win the competition going on! (around $200) I'm down 9 lbs since the competition started on 10/16. We weigh again sometime between 11/16 and 11/22.

And of course the things that you do before getting on the scales: (some of these are "women only" things!

Go to the bathroom
Shave
Pluck your eyebrows
Clip fingernails/toenails
Remove nail polish
Blow your nose
Clean your ears out
Take your glasses off
Make sure there's no lint in belly button
And of course, remove every stitch of clothing!

(ok, you all KNOW that I'm joking, right??)
