Weird craving question

Well, I've been doing LDL for 5 days and changes in my life are already remarkable. However, I am having a weird craving. I haven't been a milk drinker since I was born. I didn't do cereal all my life and would only have an occasional sip after eating something extremely sweet. For the past two days that's all I think about and all I really would like to drink although I do drink water instead.

My question is this....is my body really craving something else and I just think it's milk? Is there something I can eat/drink to alleviate this craving?

Thanks in advance for you answers and support!

Sue B (honey - you probably hate that)

I don't have my book with me, but I know within the book there is a section about cravings and what can cause this. I would say check that first.

I will try to remember to look this up when I get home, and I will answer (if another family member doesn't beat me to it)

i NEVER liked milk...i made myself drink milk when i was pregnant, but it wasn't a pleasant experience......i would use milk for my cereal and coffee(well, half & half)...
drink soy milk........you can drink all you want...just look for the variety that doesn't have sugar in it....milk has sugar in it so i would say it's a sweet craving so i would also load up on fruit........
  keep up the good work..............sincerely,niki

Tom,

Actually many people have called me Sue B honey  ;) and I don't mind. The kicker is that Sue is my middle name. My first name is Jessemyn...now that's a mouthful.

Thanks for replying to my question!

Sue,

Glad to read you weren't aggravated by the lame tag. I know it can be annoying when someone’s name provokes “a joke” – especially when they heard it a million times.

When I was a teenage I knew someone who’s last name was Voorheese. He would get so mad when someone would say “Voorheese – like Vor-he’s a jolly good fellow?”

A friend of mine is Dinah. I can’t tell you how many times someone said “Hey, someone’s in the kitchen with Dinah”.

And my poor sister Denise still hears “If you’re Denise, where is De-nephew?”

All I ever heard was "Oh! How unusual; I've never heard THAT before."

Sue B,
I would think that if you are craving milk even though you don't like it then what you probably really need is protein.  Try eating more beans or some tuna, skinless chicken, eggs etc.
I think that might help.

My nieces and nephew all called me "Jeanie Beanie" and I also have heard over and over about "I dream of Jeanie with the light brown hair."  I used to have light brown hair, but I have kept it red for years to honor my mother who was a natural redhead.
