Book is ordered....anxious to get started!

Well, I saw this interview on WSFA (located in Montgomery, AL) today and was intrigued.  I came to the website and decided that this is what I need to get rid of this 20 lbs I gained since being sick (C-Difficile...I was one sick puppy! ) last February-March.  I lost a about 10 lbs. and I think my metabolism just shut down....since I was unable to eat much and what I did eat went straight thru!  Once I began to feel better, I began packing on the pounds!  Very scary!  I have never had a weight problem before and I am the only one in my family who hasn't!  I was considered the "runt"....haha.

I am anxious to begin the Let's Do Lunch eating plan....but don't have my book yet.  Any tips to hold me till it arrives would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome Darlyne!

Did you order the book from the website? If you did, then author, Roger Troy Wilson (aka RT or Roger Troy) will send the updates along with it. If you ordered it elsewhere, please be sure to email or call RT and ask him to send you the updates.

I am so glad you're here.

Darlyne,

While waiting for the book you can begin to enjoy many of the things you can eat, such as: all the fresh fruit you want...there is no fruit (except maybe coconuts) that you can't have. As many and as much vegetables as you want...use them in soups, casseroles, stews, or just by themselves.  All the leanest beef, chicken and turkey you want.  Just eat your meat at your noon meal.  Try a big ground sirloin burger with all the trimmings and wrap it up in lettuce leaves (only fat-free or very low fat cheese).  Try to stay away from white and sweet potatoes, white rice (you can have dark-brown brown rice), pasta and bread.  Once you get the book and check the recipes on line you will find lots of substitutes for these items.  And BEANS.  Eat all the beans you want...again, add them to soups, stews, etc.  You can have refried beans with scrambled eggs, fat free cheese and salsa for breakfast.  I just open up a can of refried black beans and eat right out of the can when I get a "Starch" craving. Eating this way, you will lose all your cravings.  Welcome to the boards!!

1) WELCOME to LDL.
2) If you go to "search" and look for the topic "can someone help a sista out" you'll find a great synopsis of LDL.
The only thing that won't be on that is the: whole grain oatmeal (the less processed the better), the DARK brown, brown rice (kind of mahogany in color). You can get any and all of the different recipes here on the boards and any questions you have ask away as we have many "Food Police" here that will help you.

Thanks to all of you for your friendly welcome and advise.

I have ordered the book from the website, so I guess this means I will get the updates.

I will try to keep to the suggestions you have made until I get the book / and read the message boards for further info.

I am so excited about this!  Thanks bunches!

Hi Darlyne...and Welcome to LDL...

I agree that there is no need to wait for the book to arrive.  When i started, it was the very next day after i heard Roger Troy.  By the time the book arrived about a week later, i realized that my cravings had already disappeared.  So i hope that you'll start right away!  There's plenty to read right here on the boards.  I think there's a thread called "getting startet" or something like that.

Congratulations on being led to LDL!  Please visit the boards often and it's a great idea to post what you are eating each day so that we can help make sure you're doing it just right!

Again, welcome and
God bless!
