i keep snack ideas calling for roasted chick peas or garbanzo beans but i seem to be missing the recipes for them...
garbanzo beans and chick peas are one and the same, yes?
also, do we start with dried beans?? canned beans?? if canned do we drain AND rinse??
seasoning ideas?? heat at what temp and how long??? thnx friends...

Jo,
Garbanzo Beans and Chick Peas are the same.
Quick roasting calls for drained canned peas rinsed and dried.
Bake at about 375 (I think) after drizzling or misting them with Olive Oil then sprinkle with salt.
If you cook the dried ones you would do the same, only no need to rinse, just drain and dry (blot with towel).
You have to watch them and turn them as best you can after 15 min or so.
Continue baking until well browned but not burnt!
I found they got crispier dry roasting them in a non-stick skillet just misting with a little OO and sprinkling on the salt.
Cook until they are nicely browned.
Kinda the thing you have to play with until you get them the right consistency.
