keeping celery crisp

If you wrap celery in aluminum foil it will keep it crisp for a much longer time than just in the bag it comes in.
I also tried this w/ green onions.   It worked ok.

Thanks for the tip, Malmq.  It takes me a while to finish a stalk of celery.  This should help.

Glad to help....  you will be surprised how long it stays crisp.    I know, it takes a long time to go thru a bunch of celery stalks... esp. now since we can't put cream cheese in it :-(

Celery will keep for weeks if you store it in a container with cold water.

As for stuffing the celery try making some humas it is good on celery.  In the last issue of First I read where they mixed the humas with pumkin  I am going to try that as it sounded good.

Oh, the soup recipe I make most calls for so much celery that I use mine up!  That is the very best way to keep it from going bad.  ;D  And you know what they say about celery -- it takes more calories to digest it than it has, so you have to lose weight.
