820 Birthday of Port Hamburg

The history of the port is almost as old as the
history of Hamburg herself. Founded on May 7th, 1189
by Frederick I for its strategic location, it has been
Central Europe's main port for centuries and enabled
Hamburg to develop early into a leading city of trade
and a rich and proud bourgeoisie.

Your mom doesn't look anywhere near 86 yrs. old!  I've been to Hamburg.  I was actually visiting friends in Hannover and flew in and out of Hamburg.  I have been to Germany twice and have wonderful memories.

Your mother looks great, as do you ;)!  Great genes, lucky you.  LDL can only do well for your mother.  It's never too late to improve our health!  Thanks for sharing Hamburg with us.  I hope to visit Germany one day.  Pam

Boy, Chrissy, I sure hope I look as good as your mother at 86!  We need a picture of you (even though Murphy is really handsome) to compare.

I absolutely loved your pictures of Hamburg!  I have fond memories of Germany and seeing all the beautiful old architecture again was a reminder to me of how old your country is compared to ours.

I have been in Germany three times -- all on company money!  I worked for a U.S. company that sent me to Dusseldorf/Neuss in the mid-80's to do some training at our manufacturing plant in Neuss.  My hotel was in Dusseldorf and our plant was in Neuss.  I stayed for 2 weeks at a time and I made some friends while I was there.  They took me Aachen (don't know if I spelled this correctly) and Bonn, and of course to some of the best beer halls.  I have never been a big beer drinker, but German beer is the best!  Also, some of the best German food I ever ate was in the beer halls.

Thanks for sharing,

Vicki

Nice to hear from you, Chrissy!

I no longer drink any kind liquor, beer included, and haven't for a long time. The drinking age in New Hampshire is 21 years old (the age varies by state in the U.S).  I can't imagine children legally being able to drink at 16!  My husband was an occasional drinker but has given it all up for LDL, as Roger suggests, because it can slow down your weight loss.

Chrissy,

I just looked at your profile when I saw you post your mom is 86.  GOOD GRIEF you guys are young looking!  She looks in her early 50's to me and you look like 28!  I agree with Pam, lucky genes!

Y'all are beautiful.  :)    Thank you for sharing the pics.
