Is anyone here loosing (discarding) weight?
Well I recently had to have a problematic tooth pulled.
It is finally healing and I am able to wean off pain medication.
Monday I was feeling lighter so I weighed.
Down 3 more pounds!!
I got to thinking about it and realized I had been having trouble with this tooth since Sept 2013.
Tried a temporary filling but opted out of a root canal.
Hoped the temporary filling would hold a few years but the tooth was too rotten and continued to break off.
Well last fall is when the gradual weight gain began.
Now that the tooth is out and the infection is resolving I am beginning to feel LDL again.
So if you are struggling, maybe an underlying infection may be going on.
I've decided to be accountable again by weighing in every Monday.
Clown Lady and Snoopy used to have a challenge going on and knowing I was going to have to weigh and post every Monday kept me on track and that was when I lost the most.
So Monday I weighed 191, still up 20 pounds from my lowest weight and 65 pounds away from my goal weight.

Linda- I hope you have found the solution to your weight struggle. I am exercising, limiting my fruit to one piece a day, and eating only the lower carb vegetables. It seems LDL takes me only so far. I call it my "LDL set-point." To get the last 20# off I have to be more drastic. Once there, as long as I am loyal to LDL I can maintain. The problem is not letting good for me, but not LDL foods slip back into my eating plan.
I did it 2 years ago and even got below my goal. After my three surgeries on my left hip in the past year, lowered activity levels, not always being able to prepare my own food, and, yes, some pity eating, I was up 21#. I'm taking it off now with 11# to go. I do not think that corn is my friend. I have never gotten back to wheat- it's coming up on my 5th anniversary of LDL and no gluten. What an exciting 5 years this has been.

Fruit is definitely a problem for me being so addicted to sugar.
I do better on less starchy veggies and more meat also.
Today all I had time to eat was 1 hard boiled egg at 1 pm. Then of course by 3:30 I was hungry and needing somthing I could eat quickly ay my desk. Ok so I gave in to a fundraiser candy bar.
Came home famished and ate a little leftover stew a banana and a few spoons of mostly the inside of a Sam's apple pie hubby wanted. I am not hungry now and this is about a forth of what I had been eating.
Still marveling at how the cravings stopped as the tooth socket healed!
My pants are loose again!

Did my weigh-in Monday and was disappointed that my weight was up 2 lbs.
Decided to weigh again on Tuesday. Down 3 pounds from Monday and down 1 pound from last week.
I'm hapy!

Well, I finally did it!
Sent my order in to Amazon.
Needed stuff for the hens so I got the stuff I wanted.
My Vegetable Spiralizer is on sale so I am getting that, and the OXO Salad Spinner will be here next week.
WalMart had a bunch of organic spaghetti sauce on sale so I thought I would get some for a quick meal, now that daughter and the grandkids are moving back in. Lots of preparation to do but happy busy as they will be flying in from Alaska in just a little more than a week!

BTW I get lots of pastured eggs every day and peeling hard boiled fresh eggs is a real chore.
I read all the reviews and decided to get the Cuisanart Egg Cooker from Amazon.
But they just opened a Bed Bath and Beyond in town and they had it with the 20% off coupon.
I love it. Eggs are perfect with now green/gray around the yoke and peel easily.
If you make lots of Angeled Eggs and have this problem, this is the one to get.
It can do 10 eggs in less than 20 min.

Don't know what it is about Mondays for me.
Weighed in on Monday and again scales said I was up 3 lbs.
I was retaining water so weighed again Tuesday and was down the 3 lbs plus another 0.2 lbs from last week.
Not much of a net loss but I'll take it.
The spent a whole day with hubby in the ER while he passes a 6mm stone into his bladder.
Nearly a 20hr fast since I did not eat anything all day untill we got home in the evening.

Grandaughter and grandkids arrived last Tuesday.
So much to do and so little time, being busy keeps the appetite down for sure.
Did not weigh Monday, but decided to see what was going on this morning.
Praise the Lord! I have officially lost 10 of the 25 pounds I regained last winter!
Down 5lbs since last weigh-in.

BTW Wanda, I got out the spiralizer the other day.
Did not work well with a carrot.
Will have to try it later with other veggies
The egg cooker (steamer) worked great.

Linda,

Congratulations on the weight release. :D

I forgot to tell you that if you use carrots they have to be big. I find that my food processor is better for those. You are going to love doing squash and zucchini with it though. :D Just buy the straightest you can find. I just did that tonight after work. Tomorrow I'm making zucchini noodles with onions. YUMMMMMM!

Blessed and Loved,
LP

P.S. I can't wait to hear all of you new experiences with your new kitchen toys.

Thank LP.
I used organic carrots and they were medium size. [-X

Want to try some taters for the kids.
They are skinny and will have fun practicing with the potato tomorrow.
Then move on to the zucchini.
I need to get more. Hungry for spaghetti
