I saw it in the store this week and read about it here. I see that it is low glycemic and doesn't cause weight gain or slow loss. What I am wondering about is how does it taste? I have honey in the house for when I need to sweeten something, but I don't use it very often. I'm trying to eat not only LDL but as close to whole as possible this go round. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks. :)

I used it in baked beans and they were so good that I ate a whole pan, needless to say I didn't lose that week!!
I stick to the splenda, but have been using less of it because fruits are tasting sweeter to me. I am afraid to try the agave again. Linda RN what are your opinions?? Linda studies these things in depth.

Thanks for the reply. :) I guess I will just stick to honey. I only need it every couple of months or so. I used to use splenda all the time until I read about all the horrible chemicals and side effects of it. I haven't eaten any of it in about six months now. I'm trying really hard to only put things in my body that my body knows what to do with.

Just now seeing this post.
Beginning to think that some posts are not showing up for others.
Agave Nectar is processed similar to corn syrup.

LP- I answered this the day you posted, I have no idea where it went. I wouldn't use it. As Linda said, it's highly processed and is just an attempt to pass off another unhealthy food to replace high-fructose corn syrup. Stevia seems to be an okay choice for us. So far no negative health consequences have been found from consumption- and I'm sure the sugar industry as well as the Splenda and Equal manufacturers have been trying very hard to find something to scare us from using Stevia.

Thanks for the feedback y'all. :) I haven't been shopping again yet so I won't even bother with it. I really don't even know why I was thinking about it other than I saw it in the store. :) I'm just going to stick with the honey for a sweetener.

And Pam I agree with you about the sugar peeps. Today I went and got chick fil a chicken because I forgot to set my chicken out last night to thaw. I also ordered a side salad because I've eaten all of my lettuce. So I open the bag and they've put croutons and sunflower seeds. I dumped the croutons and I was just about to put the sunflower seeds on when I read the ingredients. I can't remember them verbatum but it was something along these lines...sunflower seeds, sugar, maltodextrin, wheat starch, honey powder, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, salt. :-o All of this on a little packet that just said, Honey roasted sunflower seeds. Needless to say, they went in the trash too. My salad was magnificent without them!
