I can't seem to get out of bed since I've started

I've been trying the LDL way of eating for one month now.  I beleive I have stuck with the plan and have not fallen off at all.  I have no cravings, and I have not had any alcohol either.  I excercise almost every day and take vitamins daily as well (this is something I have done for years).  I usually get up very early in the mornings, sometimes waking an hour before my alarm clock.  Since I've started this, I just can't seem to get up with the alarm clock and on the weekends I find myself sleeping in until 9 or 10 oclock in the morning.  Today I got up at 9:30, had breakfast and did a few things around the house and then went back to bed for another couple of hours.  Does anyone have any tips or thoughts on why this may be.

I love this way of eating and really do not want to change any of it.  I'm not a big meat eater anyway, so only having my protein at lunch is not a big deal to me.  Hopefully someone will have some thoughts for me.

How's your iron level?  Low Iron will make you very tired and sluggish.
If you fall off the horse, climb right back on!

You should probably have a physical to make sure there isn't anything wrong just to be safe.

Also, when you've been eating unhealthy foods for a long period of time, your body will be loaded with toxins and will take longer to detoxify. The LDL program does that by using lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. During that period you will feel tired and need a lot more rest than usual. You may also experience other symptoms such as dizziness; nausea and vomiting; headaches; etc. After the toxins have been removed you'll find that you have a lot more energy.

Thanks for the feedback - I have thought about my iron level, since I've had that issue years ago.  I think I will contact the dr. and make an appointment for a physical, just to be sure there isn't something else.

Sorry you are not feeling well.  Going to the Dr to get checked is wise!  See if he can check your thyroid also. Let us know how you are doing. K?

We have heard of others who felt bad at first because of the toxins.  I think giving it time is a good thing.  You seem to be perservering and that's great.

When Deborah D. started feeling this way, she found a few days later she was coming down with a miserable cold. Hope that is not the case for you. If you are tired, you do need rest because your body is trying to recover. If this were happening to me I would bump up the Vit C to 2000mg and Vitamin D3 to 2-4,000iu's, and probiotics if you are not already on them. Taking B12 sublingual (under the tongue) will also boost your energy. (B12 is mostly destroyed by stomach acid so sublingual gets to the bloodstream before it gets to the stomach.) Drink plenty of water and rest. Believe you will be better and you will. I am believing with you.

Yes I did call and leave a message for the dr's office to have a physical.

The vitamins I take daily are:
Vitamin C - 2000 mg
Vitamin D - 2000 IU
B12 - 1000mg
B6 400 mg
And recently started taking Vitamin E - 400 IU

I've been taking this combination for years at the suggestion of a co-worker to help ward off illness and it certainly has worked.  I very rarely come down with a cold.

Once I'm able to get my dr's appointment, I will be sure to let you all know how it turns out.  I know I don't have an opportunity to post on the message boards often, but you guys are always great!!  Your comments are very appreciated and I hope you all know how much your thoughts and support mean to me!

Well I have noticed something also with myself I feel blahhh I don't know any other way to explain it. I have only been in a week but I feel weird. still sticking to it though.

Hi Nana, Welcome!

It is usually the toxins leaving your body that is causing the blahs.Drink lots of water to help things along.  :thumbsup:  :thumbsup:If it persists, please check in with your doctor. I also notice that I feel terrible in the early spring. I have never been diagnosed with allergies like hay fever etc. I do have lots of food allergies though. But I think the pollen counts are so high these days that it is affecting people who may not have been affected in the past.  My kids noticed that I was affected - me , I am in denial.

I also try to have an egg for breakfast for a few days if I feel blah. I think we may have eaten so much protein in the past, that sometimes our bodies are looking for it or we simply have some low blood sugar issues to address.  IT works for me. Keep us posted.

Hi Nancy.

It takes a little while for your body to detox. Some people feel sick with headaches or stomach pains or fatigue or other uncomfortable symptoms for a couple of weeks. Stick with it, because your body is going to thank you once it gets the toxins cleared out and starts to get used to being consistently given nutritious, whole food.

One of the first things you lose on LDL is the excess water your tissues are holding onto. As you do this, you also release back into your blood any toxins that are lurking in your cells with that water. So it isn't unusual to feel blah or have some other aches and pains as your organs do their job and escort these nasty little hitchhikers out of your body.

If any discomfort doesn't start to clear up, be sure to see your doctor. But you should be getting plenty of excellent nutrition while eating Let's Do Lunch foods. Your body just has to get used to the higher fiber, and having to work differently at digesting whole, unprocessed food.

So don't be alarmed, stick with it, and eat until you are full from all the LDL approved wonderful foods.

Enjoy the journey (especially when you get past this very temporary fatigue)
