Here's my update. Woo Hoo !!!!

Post by Charlotte C. »

Hey LDL family,
I know it's been a long time since I have been on here, but I
just wanted to give an update on my progress. I am still on LDL
and have no plans or desire to change it. It is without a dout the
best thing that I could have ever done. For the first time in my life
I know I will not ever have to worry about my weight.
I started LDL on 2-17-11 and since then have lost 48 lb.
Everybody is amazed at how much weight I have lost. I am amazed
myself considering how much food I eat. I always tell them about LDL
and Roger. My story is pretty much the same as everybody else.
Been dieting off and on my whole adult life. Weight always up and
down, but mostly always up. Tried all kinds of diets. I could go on
and on but yall know what I'm talking about. For the first time
in my life I feel like I finally have control over my weight. I thank
God everyday for Roger Troy Wilson and this wonderful way of eating.
I hope my story will inspire and encourage others.

                                                      Still Loving LDL, Charlotte

So glad you love the sauteed turnips Char! They are now a staple, as far as I'm concerned. And I also fry radishes~ peeling the red skin is not necessary! At first I did because I thought the outer layer may be tough- like turnip skins are, But they're not. And they fry up so pretty!

Mrsj, I have sauteed radishes all the time now. Just take a bunch of radishes- or 2!- and wash, dry and slice like potatoes.(Thin slices). Don't peel the red skin off. "Fry" in EVOO or EVCO ( you don't need much oil); season like you would potatoes. Brown on all sides. Because radishes take a little longer to cook than potatoes- because of the lack of starch- I put a lid on the skillet after I've added a couple of spoonfuls of water to keep them from burning. When the water is absorbed and the radishes are brown, test with a fork to see if they're done. They probably are at this point.

These are great with a side of fried eggs!

Enjoy!

Wither- Did the radishes lose their "bite" when they were cooked?  I'm so intrigued by this recipe!  Pam

This is an older thread, but I wanted to say more about the frying of radishes, and mention turnips, too. You can add green pepper and onions to make mock Potatoes O'brien when sauteing the radishes or the turnips.. Yum! Also, when I make stew the LDL way I add chunks of turnips in place of the potatoes; they kind of even look like potatoes. Be sure the chunks are large enough; if they're too small they may disintegrate because of the lack of starch, I'm guessing.
