Hi Everyone -- I picked up a copy of FIRST magazine and after reading it and several of these boards I am starting the plan tomorrow morning. I have spent a lifetime of dieting (55 years) and have managed to diet my way up to 297 pounds. I have been on every diet you can imagine and then some. I hope this will be my last one as I am tired of the failures. I need to take better care of my health so that I can enjoy life more.
Since I am waiting for my book I've tried to get as much info as I could from these boards. Everyone sounds very nice and helpful. Can someone possibly give me a smoothie recipe that I could whip up for breakfast? That would be appreciated.
I'll be checking in often........

Re: New and starting tomorrow
Hi Abby, sounds like we are the same age. I am new also and read the article in "First". I ordered my book and anxiously awaiting its arrival. Since today is a holiday - no mail - I am hoping later this week. I have read a lot of posts and check back quite often. Everyone is helpful and very encouraging. I have tried every diet out there also. I keep thinking that there is something wrong with me that I can't seem to stick with anything. After reading all about this plan I believe it is a lifestyle change and mindset change rather than some diet that I can't stick to. This plan seems to be something that will get me off the diet rollercoaster. I believe everything that I have read in these posts and know that we can do it this time.

Hi grambonnie5,
Welcome, and you are right, you can do it, just as all of us are doing it. It is not hard to eat fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and beans. There are so many recipes that you don't have to get tired of eating the same things over and over as you do in lots of the diet plans. That is why this is not a diet but a healthy way to eat for the rest of our lives.
Enjoy the ride with us.
Hugs, Carrole

I have been making the smoothie recipe that was in the First article. I have had them for breakfast and also for dinner. They are yummy!
