Gratitude Party! Come join in!!
Hey Peeps,
Let's have a gratitude party! This doesn't have to be a list of only LDL gratitude. Just anything and everything you are grateful for! Bet you are smiling by the time you are finished! (((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))
Today I am grateful for;
My dog Maddison who loves me unconditionally.
My art and how it makes me feel.
All of my friends here and in real time.
Music. It soothes my soul.
Green tomatoes. I am going to have some for dinner.
Sunshine and silliness.

HI LP,
What a great idea! I love a party!
I am grateful for my
- faith and how it helps my world make sense
- serene home
- great job that challenges me and allows me to sustain a good living
- children who have brought me so much joy and love
- impish grandson Zachary that giggles and giggles with me and allows me to bring out my silly side
- creativity and drive
- love of the arts that was fostered by my parents and brings me great joy
- my body that continues to work according to plan even though I have not taken great care of it
- my brother; the piece of my puzzle that makes everything fit together and be stabilized
- my childhood friends with whom I share a strong bond and a long history
- my LDL friends who create a loving and non judgemental place to visit every day for support and encouragement.
- closet shopping!
Thanks LP - I have a lot to be grateful for!
Julie

Re: Gratitude Party! Come join in!!
Those are awesome lists yall.
Julie, Zachary sounds like a little angel. You'll have to post a pic of him sometime.
Donna I'm a quilter too! I haven't done any in quite some time but I love it. I used to do nothing but hand piecing and hand quilting. The last few I made I machine pieced and hand quilted. I need to find time to add that back into my life. I love it and it was so calming and centering for me. I love learning new things about yall. *Hugs*

isthis4me *HUGS* I'm so glad you're here!
Lizzy you made me laugh with the comment about the boys!
Preach it Donna! I wish I had known to take better care of my skin when I was younger too.

Re: Gratitude Party! Come join in!!
Thanks LP for the wonderful gratitude party! I wouldn't miss this gala event for anything! Developing the attitude of gratitude makes all the difference in how each day unfolds!
I am thankful for:
my religion,
my parents,
my in laws,
my extended family,
my wonderful daughter and son,
my son-in-law,
my grandson,
my rewarding job,
my house...lived here since 1978,
my new car,
that I was ok in the car accident in May,
for close relationships with grandparents, when they were alive (watching out for me from heaven now)
and drum roll...... for each new thing I learn.
Thank you God in heaven for all these things! Amen!

Kathie,
You are so right hon. When I start feeling down, or mad or angry I try to remember to make out a gratitude list for that moment. It's amazing to me how it helps when I do it. Sometimes I have to be reminded though. Thank God for my friends.

Hey Yall,
Today I am grateful for the extra energy I experience on LDL. I actually managed to get my kitchen cleaned today. And it was looking like a cyclone hit it. I am NOT exagerating! YAY for the clean house! I am also grateful once again for this crazy dog. She makes me smile. So do you guys! (((((((HUGS)))))))

Re: Gratitude Party! Come join in!!
Lizzy, your picture makes me happy too!
Teaching first grade is very rewarding...but challenging too. They are such babies still, but I must make them be so academic due to state standards. Sometimes I just want to play all day! The best part is that it is the miracle year they all learn to read!
The second best part is that my daughter teaches kindergarten in the same school as me. Yippee, I get to see her every day and we always have our classes do reading buddies together each year. It is also a lot of fun to get her former students the next year too. The kids love that I am her mom. We do funny off the wall stuff. One day, when it was very hot (no air in our building, ugh!) she asked me to braid her hair. Her entire class was in my classroom for reading buddies. They were all reading, 1 k student paired with each grade 1 student....so cute sitting all over the floor. They were under control and happily involved, so I just started braiding away, and everyone stopped reading and started watching in fascination. How often do you get to see 1 teacher braid the hair of another teacher, lol. It was too funny. I always tell my students stuff my daughter did when she was small. They feel so "in the know" about their former kindergarten teacher. I tell them books she liked when she was little or times she would not eat her vegetables and what I did about it. Its a hoot!

Oh, my I am so glad I found this thread, I am grateful for so many things, today I am grateful for felling better, for my dh who loves me just the way I am, and likes to comment to me about me, sometimes he embaresses me, because he is so complementary, my children (dear daughter and dear son in love with 1 grandson and 1 baby on the way; dear son and daughter in love with dear grandson; and dear daughter ) my friends, both here on ldl and here at home, my faith in Jesus, because he is taking care of my oldest dear son who has been in heaven these past 13 years; ldl because I am learning to eat healthy and loving it, infact it could be called lldl (loving lets do lunch); bible study and prayer meeting on Wed. night, because we can walk right into the throneroom in heaven and lay down our petitions, and know that the Lord answers them all, my garden, I am growing veggies, my new craft room, my job, vacation and I could go on an on, Thankyou for thinking of a gratitude party
