thanks for the congrats guys. I come back to reread everybodys posts (even my own) because they are so encouraging. Why do I get discouraged? I am not gaining weight and still enjoying what I am eating. I think it has to do with not having quite accepted the new skinnier me. think I need to let all this sink in.

Bobbi,

You are so right about letting the weight loss happen in it own good time.  My husband was stalled for two months but continued to eat until full/stuffed and all of a sudden his body jumpstarted again and he has continued to lose weight consistently since then.  LDL works in mysterious ways  ;D .

Good job to everyone!!!

Thanks everyone.
Gwenn, a big hug to you!
I embark on a 3 week vacation this thurs! I plan to eat as close to LDL as I can but know that that will be difficult so will just give myself permission to do the best I can.
Oh, I tried Niki's bean soup and boy is it good! I have never been able to make good tasting soup but with the LDL recipes it has been a snap and I now just love the soups I have been fixing!
I also saw 158# on the scales again!!!! So looks like I may be able to loose another lb or two(that would make my weight loss 35#s). Still bouncing around the 160# mark but now on the lower side tehe! the biggest great thing is that I am not gaining weight like I always use to do. So I can live with this!!!
Wish me bon voyage and I will try to keep in touch while I travel as people along the way have internet but it will depend on time constraints also.

Bobbi
Congratulations on the 158 mark.  You are going to have so much fun on your adventure.  I would think it should be pretty easy to stay pretty close to LDL in Japan with the way they eat.
Have a great time and we hope to hear all about it when you  return.

I am back from Japan! Wow, what a wonderful trip. I weighed 162 when I got back!!!!! Wow. I think this way of eating reves up your motabolism! I ate LDL fruit for breakfast most of the time I was gone but ate anything I wanted the rest of the time.
It feels so goode to be back to eating the good healthy LDL foods! I am so amazed that I didn't gain any more weight than I did! Aint that just great!

Welcome back to the good ole USA!  Happy to hear you had a good time with your son. Am I correct in thinking you lost weight on your trip?  If so, how much?  Do you think the Japanese diet helped?  What did you eat that we LDLrs would not normally touch?  Hope I haven't asked too many questions -- just my curious mind.

No, I did not lose weight. I had weighed 158-160 before I left. While I was gone I was able to stick to fruit for breakfast most of the time. However, not being in control of my food chain, I ate whatever the rest of the time. I am so glad to be back to all the great veggies! In fact I have had quite an appetite since I have been back to LDL eating????? Not sure what that is about unless it is just my body's way of telling me it missed all the delicious good for me food. LOL.
While I will have to admit to enjoying some of the not so good for me food, I will have to also say that the cravings were coming back big time and I know that I can not eat that way without putting on the pounds again. thankfully, I don't even want to go back to that way of eating on a permanent basis.
I did recieve a lot of compliments from my kids. My cousin and daughter-in-law were encouraged to give LDL a try. So I am very excited about thatl. In fact I just recieved an email from my daughter-in-law and she has already lost 4 lbs doing mostly LDL! How cool is that.
Also my aunt in Henderson, NV said to me "you sure look nice, just don't loose any more weight" I have to laugh at that one. If she could see how I had to eat to loose the weight she would never say that.
It is soooo good to be back to my LDL eating. I so enjoy all the good food and knowing that what I eat is so healthy!

Hopeful,

You did your best on your Japan visit.  2-4 pounds gain in one month is not bad considering that you ate a lot of non-LDL food.  But, it is nice to hear that you now know that you can't continue to eat that way and not gain weight.  It was a wake-up call!

HI Hopeful- I just went back and looked at your very first posts, you have still lost a lot of weight, what a difference from where you were last June when you started to where you are today, I am so glad that you are back on track, and yes you did your best while you were in Japan.  I used to take in Japanese exchange students, and I just loved them, such well brought up children.

Thanks you all  for your encouraging words! It seems like my mind is finally growing into my slimmer body. Sounds wierd but that is how it feels.
Even if I didn't gain weight eating the junk, I do not want to go back to eating that way. Too much out of control!
I am oh so glad to be back!!!!!

Wow, I am still loving this way of eating! I am still maintaining my aprox 160-164lbs and feeling so good. I have had so many complements lately. go figure. I have not lost anymore weight not sure what that is all about.
I am getting ready to teach a 4 week LDL class here in town. I am so excited. I will be directing people to the message boards so hopefully you will be seeing some of them on here. At least hopefully many will be lurking in the back ground getting all the great incouragement that you all give so freely.
wishing you all well.

Hopefull,

Have fun teaching your class.  I'm sure you will leave them with great information and I hope you get a lot of converts to LDL -- it's the best and only way to lose weight and improve your overall health!
