Hi all,
What is the rules for using avocado in a recipe? I was reading Rachel Ray's mag and she has a Triple - decker strawberry chicken club sandwich recipe in it and i thought well i can make this and build it on a wasa or a ry-krips and us turkey bacon. it calls for one avocado and mayo(switched to ff) and baby spinach and strawberry's. do you think i can use less of the avocado for the taste? it looks so good.
the mag is her may 2009

to tell you the truth, i don't like them.....but, olives are a very comparable example of high in fat vegetable that's good for you....so, i'm going say that if you like them it's acceptable in small amounts from time to time...i mean, a couple of slices with your salad, in MY opinion, is no big deal....JUST my opinion...

Hi Jerseybeava,
I have learned from the past if a sandwich calls for both avocado and mayo, to only use the avocado. The mayo seems to make it taste too heavy for some reason. Of course, that's my opinion and I haven't tried FF mayo. Give it a try with both and let us know how it taste.
