how much can I eat?

Post by snowbirdie »

Hi All,
When I first started LDL I could fill my chili bowl up to the top and eat it all. Gradually I came to eat less and less just as Roger says. Not because I was trying to but because I got filled up quicker. Today I had a third of a bowl and couldn't eat that much. In my mind I wanted more but in my tummy no more would fit. Ha Ha  So you see Roger is right. You will eat less and less as time goes by. I didn't even notice it.

I fill up fast. Never can eat a lot at a sitting. I do better if I eat small meals more often.

Ms.Heirloom, Does that happen? No I don't eat a lot as I used to. Is that something that can cause a plateau? I have been on a plateau for a while.

Bingo, I make me a cup of Hot cocoa with splenda in it. That stops that sweet craving for me. Sometimes I drink two. It works for me and is good on a cold morning.

Judie- For myself, when I looked at what I was eating I thought it was enough.  However, when I calculated the WW points (a friend shared her materials) I was only eating about half as many points as WW would require.  So I added a 3rd meal and upped my quantities and, voila, I lost 3.5# in December.  I have been doing LDL since May, 2009.  I think my body was in survival mode and decided to not lose anymore.  By eating more (still all LDL foods), I believe I convinced my body that I would still feed it and that it was okay to discard more weight.  This is all my assumptions.  I'll keep you posted next week when I report the results of my monthly weigh-in.  Fingers crossed!  Pam

Judie,

I too increased the amount of food I ate when I was at a plateau and for the reasons that Pam stated ("I think my body was in survival mode and decided to not lose anymore.  By eating more (still all LDL foods), I believe I convinced my body that I would still feed it and that it was okay to discard more weight.")  Our body is a wonderful machine but occasonally it needs more oil (food) to keep it running smoothly.

When we were at Julie's ranch in SA, Country Girl and ate so very much and also at our hotel and River Walk, and we lost more weight.  That trip made me realize that good food makes me shed those pounds and inches.  I thought I was at goal then, but my body went from 10 to 6 and 8, and another 10lbs.  It has stopped for now.  I still eat a lot, but mostly my noon meal; however, whenever, I'm hungry, I eat.  I started back to exercise last week.  I had not been there since October, and my body weighed  a couple lbs more, just like before.  Those muscles like to have liquid protection.  The wonderful thing about LDL, one does not need to exercise to maintain.  I do it for health benefits.  It felt as though I had not been away from exercise, because my body is fit. We each need to embrace LDL that works for our own bodies.  I love its principles, and I love good food.  Thanks to  Roger and LDL.  God has a purpose for all, and that is to glorify Him through helping others.     :)JF
