I'm back! (:

Post by Tori »

Sorry I've been gone so long everyone. We had a lot going on with our family over the past couple of months. First my cousin's youngest son passed away, and then within a week my grandmother went to be with the Lord also. I went to Alabama to attend my Grandmother's funeral, and then stayed a week to help the family sort through her estate and get the house ready for sale.

On the up side of things, after I got back, my daughter went into labor, and gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Gavin Lee.  ;D

So, now I am back, and ready to jump back in to the LDL community! I want to thank Roger for his prayers and support during this time. It truly was appreciated!

God bless you all, and I look forward to talking to you all again soon!

P.S. Here is a picture of myself and my grandbaby ... I couldn't resist!  ;D

hi tori...it's wonderful to hear from you...very sorry for your losses..it sounds like they both went home to be with the Lord, but it's still such a loss with so much pain(especially your cousin's son)...wow..had your grandmother lived a little longer, she would have become a great great grandmother.....i'm going to say that this is your first grandchild since you are a young grandmother...my pastor told me before my grandson was born that when i held him in my arms,it would change my life........and it did.....and it's wonderful to be a young grandmother because you can do so much with them...my grandson is 6 and if my daughter is not with me,people still think he's my son....there's nothing like grandchildren..God bless you and your little grandson .....niki

Yes, I am a young grandmother, (I'll be 35 in August), and yes, he is my first grandchild. I am thrilled that I will be young enough to enjoy the little one! God has his hands in all aspects of our lives, and I can truly say that having Gavin has really brought my daughter and I closer together, and it has brought her closer to the Lord as well, since she realizes that she is now responsible for raising this child up in the way the Lord wants her to. God's blessings abound!

Thanks for the "welcome back"!  (:

Awwww, thanks Mary!

Yes, it has definitely been a roller coaster ride the past couple of months. We just had quite the scare with Gavin tonight. Hubby and I had been visiting with my daughter when I noticed that Gavin's hands and feet were extremely white. I started moving him around to "get the circulation going", and his feet kind of turned a little purplish, but he wouldn't "pink up" as babies are supposed to do.

I had my daughter call the ER, and they told her to bring him in. Right now he is in the baby care unit, with 2 I.V.'s in his little arms, and an oxygen tube taped to his face.  :'(

They are running tests to see what is wrong with him, but for some reason his oxygen level will not stay at normal levels. I would really appreciate any prayers that you all are willing to offer up for him. My poor daughter is beside herself, and my heart is just breaking for her. I know how hard it is to be in that situation.

We just got back from the ER a bit ago, and are going to try to catch a few hours of sleep before we go back up. I'll keep you all posted and let you know as soon as I hear anything.
