That's why if you weigh everyday you can figure out what you can do and what not. since we are all different. You just have to not let the scales depress you. Which I don't I use them as a learning tool.

ukgrad77,
I just threw that out there because a lot of people don't realize that fiber causes gas (as well as constipation if they don't drink enough water) and if they are aware of it then they can make changes to their diet and stay on the LDL program.
When I first started LDL I ate all the soups I could find on the boards. Then I started bloating and realized it was because I was consuming more fiber than my body was used to eating. It was the beans that were causing my bloating issues. In the past, I always ate fruit and vegetables so they are not a problem for me. The other diets never allowed beans...so I'm having to gradually reintroduce them to my diet. I also have been using Kombu to cook my beans and that has helped a lot as well.
But there are other causes of bloating such as air swallowing, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, fructose intolerance, Celiac disease, functional dyspepsia, functional constipation, bacterial overgrowth, parasites, congestive heart failure and cirrhosis of the liver to name a few.

It is interesting how different foods react on different people. I don't gain if I eat fruits, veggies, corn, corn thins, popped corn. As long as I stay with LDL foods, I may not loose, but I don't gain. Since I'm at goal, I can eat any LDL foods any time during the day, and not change my weight. I bought a sack of soy flour and whole wheat flower, so I am going to start experimenting with recipes. I also bought a fresh coconut, and lemons. Wendy put a lemon pie recipe on the boards, I am going to try using fresh lemon to make it. Coconut cream pie, maybe!!! It would just be once in a while celebration. I don't crave them, but would like to be able to entertain by serving pie that I can eat. If Mary or anyone else has a pie crust made from whole grains, please send it my way. I am so grateful for all the advice and recipes from the boards. You're a great bunch!!!
