LDL Class and Bone Density

I just came from the LDL Class we had at the school---All paid for by a grant. It was a tremendous outcome---The food was amazing and the testimonials were great. One nutritionist in the class spoke of her success. She is a beautiful size 2-4 red head. Country Girl looked and talked fantastically. Ollie is cruising, so we missed her. All the people enjoyed the delicious soups, Mexican chicken, hummus, and most of all the ice cream. We had a whole lot of fun. I hope we pick up some more who want to become LDL eaters. I had a bone density done yesterday, and I'm in the normal range. From the beginning of doing LDL, my doctor started me on 1000 D vitamin and caltrate. It has worked. Thanks to LDL, I feel and look so much better.

Congratulations, Wanda, on your successes both personally and with your mission to spread the word regarding the benefits of the LDL way of eating. You are truly a fantastic success story. Pam

Wanda,
Sounds like everyone had a good time. Hopefully the nutritionist recruited some new members. People tend to listen to someone in her position (career) AND who has succeeded as well. Think positive and the rest of us will keep our fingers crossed.
Congratulations on your test results.

Just got the results from my bone dentesty test. I was not so lucky. I am at high risk for a broken bone. So now on meds for it plus vitamins. I have very small bones anyway being only 5:3 Good thing I started excerising.

Jerrie.. I am beating JF to the punch with what I think is the recipe that she is speaking about. Here is the link for the Easy Mexican Chicken:
http://boards.letsdolunch.com/boards/in ... pic=4091.0There are many recipes for hummus so I don't know which one she used. But the one that Julie from Texas makes, in my opinion, is the best recipe.

Thanks, folks. VickyLynn, thanks. The Jalapeno Hummus, Julie's recipe is on the board. It is delicious. Today, I've been at the Christian School for the poetry contest. Several schools were involved. I acted as host in one classroom. The kids did such a marvelous job with their selections. They used their voices to glorify God. I'm going to work, so need to get with it soon. The ball games will also be on soon, so I want to get back to watch them. What about Fla., Roger!!! Duke got run over--- The Bucks play today. We also like KY. Our son-in-law asked Country Girl who she was going to root for. We're going with Ohio. It should be a great game.

Most of the games have been exciting. We were sorry for the Bucks, but still have Ky. I also like Fla a whole lot. They are capable to win it all. Many people think Kansas will, but on any given day, a team can be beaten. Our pastor is such a NC fan, and he rejoiced when Duke was beaten. This week and next will be great entertainment. Sometimes, we can be surprised. It is cold here. Many of our Snowbirds are returning home, and they are freezing. Our flowers are out beautifully; hope they don't get bitten. Snow is coming our way, so the weatherman says.

Wither,
My doctor has always told me to exercise and to eat plant derived calcium foods rather than taking calcium supplements. I received this newsletter this morning. About half way down it talks about exactly that...very interesting.

CQ Thank you for the info on my post, it seemed to be passed over. Thank you for sticking to the subject. The artice is very interesting. My DR. Told me to take calcium citrate with vitamin D So I got that. I also got my blood work back and I am at normal range on my calcium, total protein serum, vitamin D 25-Hydroxy,creatinine serum tsh. I don't like to take anything. This sceares me now I don't even know if I need all this calcium 1,200 mg a day. Dr. are needed but sometimes my opinon is they go off the deep in and you have to figure out things on your on. I do excerise and eat well. I have never been one to take a lot of stuff. I know vitamins can be good for you if you know how to and what to take. And they also can be harmfuf to ones body. Thanks again for the input

Wither, I'm hoping your doctor didn't put you on some of those meds for osteoporosis. They've been finding that those who take them have more femur fractures -- can you imagine? People were put on them for making their bones stronger, but then they ended up getting broken bones -- the worst kind, in fact --- because they took them. I'm always so leery about new meds. We often comment on the commercials for meds and how the side effects are often so horrible! Hope you do well.

She did put me on those meds but haven't started them yet and don't know if I am going to take them. I feel just fine! I wish I had never had that test taken. Drs. Don't know it all, They are good when we need them.

The prescription meds such as phosamax has a lot of side effects. My sister took it, and her teeth began to loosen. Her dentist told her it was it. She quit and they got okay. Exercise is the best. I can't wait until my legs are healed, so I can restart my weight training. I now can only walk. Vitamin D helps a lot of things.

Yes, I have to laugh at the new commercial for Uloric. It's a drug that's suppose to help decrease your uric acid level...i.e. gout. One of the adverse side effects is an acute gout flare...HELLO! I thought that was what the drug was suppose to treat in the first place. Go figure.
