Look Out Key West!

Little Mary,
If you read this by this evening please inform all your friends to stay off the highway. My son and his buddies are headed that way. His father and I've already warned him about the speed limit...not that it will do any good.

Hope you and your family are doing much better....especially Harrison.

Thanks! I appreciate the update and it sounds like they're going to have a great time this weekend with the weather being so nice. Hopefully, they'll remember to come home.

My mother has Harrison on her prayer list as well and I'll let her know what's going on with him. In the meantime, you need to think positive... Colorado will have an opening.

Wishing you luck with the hair coloring.

How far is colorado from you? San Diego has a wonderful childrens hospital you might keep in mind. The hair coloring works. Are you trying to do the same color or changing colors? Anyway wishing you good luck and our thoughts are with you. WITHER

Mary, We are praying for Harrison. I hope he gets in the right hospital, soon. When our kids are not well, our hair can turn grey real easily. Good luck with the coloring. It works for me! Hope, your guys stay safe, CQ. Key West sounds like the place to be right now.

and

JF

Thanks Little Mary for posting about Harrison. I have been wondering how he is progressing. Know that he is still in my prayers and I'm sure in the prayers of many others. Jerrie

P.S. It would be cool if there was a little smiley face icon with praying hands on it to show you're praying!

Mary, I didn't realize Harrison's problem hadn't been resolved yet. I guess I was hoping that no news was good news. Poor baby.
Stress really can cause your hair to gray. The first time I noticed any gray hairs (and thankfully, I still don't have many!!) was the the school year I had a class with many ADHD kids in it. It was a very rough year and the gray hairs started coming out at the temples. I'm still lightly gray there and I haven't noticed that much more, but I no longer teach, so the stress has been reduced.

Mary so sorry to hear things have not been solved for Harrison. Seattle is said to have one of the best childrens hospital ( drs) in the states. People come from all over the world to be treated there.
My prayers are still with you all

Mary, I'm glad you look beautiful again...You probably looked beautiful with the grey hair, too.

I remember seeing your church on Duval Street. I had wanted to attend the Sunday service but my husband wanted to leave early.
After reading your weather report I wish I had gone with him...of course, I would have stayed at the same hotel (I loved the antique furniture) and not with them. That wouldn't have been cool.

My son works outside everyday and doesn't use sunscreen. Instead he uses a trick that my grandmother taught me when I was a little girl. I grew up in Florida and spent my summer days swimming at Silver Springs....before ABC bought the park and closed the swimming hole. Sunscreen has to be reapplied after swimming and/or sweating but if you take PABA in pill form everyday you don't have to worry about it.
PABA protects the skin from the harmful effects of the sun. It's able to absorb the ultraviolet rays but prevents sun damage such as sunburn, wrinkling, skin cancer and age spots. The higher the dosage, the less you tan.
PABA has also been known to restore the natural hair color in some individuals.

Wasn't that stuff supposed to be toxic?
Re: Look Out Key West!

It can be at very high levels....like 8,000 mg. PABA got a bad reputation because some people were experiencing an allergic reaction to it (nausea and vomiting; itching). So, the sunscreen companies (with the use of the FDA) have been trying to convince the public that it's toxic to help increase their sales. Of course, that was after they removed it from their products. It all boils down to two things: politics and money.
My son takes 100 - 500 mg. a day depending how dark he wants to get.

CQ, I've realized just about everything has to do with politics and money! I used to be so trusting, but reality is reality. I've learned so much since finding LDL. Thanks for all you've shared too. I've gleaned lots of useable info.
