When Man's Best Friend is Obese

Post by CodingQueen »

As a pet owner, I'm concerned for their weight as well. For those of you who also have pets, this article is very interesting. Now I know why Baby is getting so fat even though I'm feeding her a weight control product...CQ

CQ,

Thanks so much for posting this article.  My cocker spaniel, Abby, is 4 years old and is overweight according to the guidelines (link in article).  I also feed her dry weight control food with some wet food added.  I think I'll start giving her less food than I normally feed her -- she eats morning and early evening.  She does tend to gain weight during the winter because of less exercise than she gets during the summer.  But, I know I'll feel guilty giving her less food but I know that I have to do it if I want her around a lot longer than she might be with too much weight on her frame.
