Eggs or No Eggs? Snacks or no snacks?

I noticed in the book while reviewing the 14-day plan, you may have fruit, followed by eggs with salsa, popcorn, or veggie omelet, if hungry, but only on the days you switch and have your Let's Do Lunch meal for dinner.
However, on days you have your Let's Do Lunch meal at lunchtime, you are limited to fruit only in the morning, with no protein.
The first question is: Why the additional protein on switch days? I'm confused.
Second: The book suggests no fruit in between meals; however, the tips suggest that if you are hungry for something sweet - eat fruit.
It seems rather contradictory - can someone explain please?
Thanks.
