You're disappearing on us

Post by heretotheend »

We were in the mountains for the 4th and were helping some friends set up their RV when another friend saw me and made the comment "you're disappearing on us". I had not seen any of them since I started this way of eating. The last time I saw all of them was Memorial Day week-end and I started this on 6-08-09. They couldn't believe the difference in me.

I just completed my first month yesterday and have lost a total of 20 3/4 lbs!!!!!!!!!!! I did not measure so I don't know how many inches I lost but I know that it is several as I am already wearing smaller clothes.

I have nothing but good things to say about this WOE. At first I was concerned that I would get tired of all of the beans even tho I love them.     But with all of the delicious recipes that are available I don't even know that I am eating beans and more beans.

Now reality sets in but I hope to keep losing at a pace of 5-10 lbs a month. I can be content with that. Even when I plateau I know that if I just keep on keeping on the weight will still come off and more so the inches.

Again I say that doing LDL is one of the best decisions I have made in along time and am still thanking God for giving Roger the inspiration for this plan.

I didn't do anything except to stay on the plan.  I do eat mainly cantaloupe and watermelon for my fruits, but I also eat bananas, peaches, some grapes, nectarines and strawberries.  I have made only a few smoothies as I much prefer to eat the fruit. Am walking a little, but not every day. I drink only water and find I do not even want my usual diet coke.

It's hard to believe that I have gone a month and have not had any potatoes.  They are one of my weaknesses.

We are starting to get vegetables out of our garden so I am eating fresh cucumbers, corn and tomatoes everyday. Have not found a good way to fix squash that I like that is LDL compliant. Still working on that.

I do eat a snack size bag of popcorn almost everynight and I eat corn thins almost everyday, depending on what my main protein dish is.

I am already seeing a difference in the amount of food that I eat. Regardless of what my main protein dish is I do have BEANS and CORN with it.

Am planning a cook day Saturday so I can have several different dishes made ahead and in the freezer. I do believe that planning ahead is a key to staying on the plan. It has always worked for me in the past.
