Newbie -- No More Lurking About

Post by Autumn Sky »

Hello.  I have been lurking about the LDL website for quite a bit now and finally decided to introduce myself.  I started this lifestyle of eating May 28, 2009.  I give thanks to our Lord for letting me see the First article and leading me to this website.  I love the comradrie among the members and the genuine help and advice offered to new and old members. Although I have many health issues, I am already seeing progress.  One of the most important advantages of this WOE is that I am no longer constantly hungry and thinking of food all the time.  Up until last week when I weighed, I had lost around 10 pounds.  And for me, that is good because I tend to lose very slowly.  I wished I had weighed before, but I am one of those types who was addicted to the scale and just sort of avoid it.  I am also an emotional eater, so I like to come to this website whenever I can and receive the encouragement whenever I read the posts.  Thanks to all who have posted ways to cook beans properly as well as well as supply all the smoothie recipes.  I know that with God's help, I will make it this time.  Sorry, if I rambled a bit.  Thanks again.  Sharon

Sharon welcome to LDL!!!!!!!!   You are going to love  *love*   *love*  *love* this WOE. I also am a former lurker and know for sure that joining this family is one of the best things I have done for myself in a long time.......Do you have the red book yet?....If you don't you need to order it.  You can do LDL without it but it has a world of information in it......Just be sure to eat until stuffed to keep for being hungry between meals and to eat plenty of beans and corn.

Welcome Sharon......there's no such thing as rambling too much on these boards, so we're really glad you're here!  I love your screen name.  It paints such a lovely picture in my mind.

Sharon, welcome to ldl, and to the message boards, you have a ways to go before you ramble as much as I tend to specially when I'm tired.  Gotta thank the Lord for ldl, and the success it gives each of us.  Isn't it wonderful that we can measure success on ldl other ways than just weight.  God bless as you journey with ldl

I don't think anyone should feel bad or made to be feel bad about being a "lurker". No one should be discouraged from trying to help themselves at any level. If someone doesn't feel they want to join this group or is too shy but can be helped by the concepts they read here it's a very good thing.

Welcome! Sharon,

It's nice to meet you and I'm sure you're going to love *love* being a member of the LDL family. I know I wouldn't have been able to get this far without all the help and support from all the brothers and sisters you'll finally have the chance to meet.

Oh, and we can't forget Dad (RT)....he keeps ALL of us in line... You'll love him. He's a very caring and loving man. I thank God every day that he brought him to us.

Martha, Cheryl, together4ever123, Mom, Jazmyn, turkkm, Cindi, Coding Queen, Sheral, Julie, Thanks so much for the greetings and encouragement.  I checked out the blue book through our Interlibrary Loan service at school.  I do plan to purchase the red book after I purchase my textbook(s) for next semester and cannot wait to make it my own personal resource through much reading and marking.  Please have a blessed day.  Sharon
