Carrole's train ride to skinnytown

Want to write a few lines regarding my ride on my way to skinnytown.  I think the success stories are so important to new people thinking of starting this program.  I especially want to say this to those that have diabetes.

I was concerned, taking quite a lot of insulin every day, that the weight would not come off.  Been told many times that the use of insulin makes it very difficult to lose weight.  I know it is a long train ride yet to get to skinnytown but happy to report that since October 1, 2008, I have lost 32 pounds.  I feel better than in years, have cut my insulin intake to about half of what I was taking, living a better life, doing more things, going more places.  I feel like my life is just beginning in some ways.

I want to first thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the work he does within me and the way He walks with me each and every day.  Want to thank Roger Troy for bringing this program to us and his servant heart to reach as many people as he can.  I'm so thankful to my family here and on these boards who have encouraged me and answered all my questions.

Love you all,

Carrole (Sweetpea)

Happy Birthday and Congratulations on your weight loss success!  It is very interesting to me to see the results for those who are diabetic as we have two people on my husband's side of the family who were just recently diagnosed with diabetes.

An update on my ride to skinnytown.  I have been on this program for 9 months now.  Had a doctor's appointment yesterday and the doctor was so pleased with my progress.  He was happy with the weight loss, my blood sugar's average for last three months was 5.4 which he said is excellent.  He was so pleased, that he didn't order all the blood work this time.  The bloodwork last time was right on.  I have been having some low blood pressure readings so we are going to watch that and maybe have to lower my medication for that.  He recommended that I start ridding my bike every day starting at 10 minutes a day to help distribute the insulin in my body.  He also thought it might help in losing weight.  The insulin causes our bodies to want to hold on to the weight and so it is a battle.  So going to start ridding today.  I haven't done this for years so know it will be slow going but that is ok.  I can't tell you how happy I was to step on the scale and be down more than 30 pounds and to wear a top that hadn't worn in years.

I love this plan and the way I feel eating this healthy food.  I eat all the fruit I want and have these excellent readings.  I praise God for this plan and HIS walk with me each and every day.  I am so thankful that Roger was willing to share this with all of us.

I will be back with an update in 6 months.

Carrole - I'm so proud of you, sister!  Excellent blood work, wearing T-shirts that were formerly "keepsakes" because there was NO WAY you were going to squeeze into them and now they fit comfortably!  WOOOOOEEEE! ! !

OK - so now what are you and Gordon harvesting from your garden this week?  I'm very jealous.

Loves, your sister in Christ,
GG

Wow, Carrole! Excellent news on the bloodwork! Eating things the way God made them sure does make a difference! And being able to get rid of cravings! Awesome!!  *hug*

And isn't it just like Christmas in July when you find you can EASILY slip into something you haven't been able to wear before -- and it looks good!  *love*

What an incentive to keep on keeping on -- it makes it not really matter how fast or slow the process might be -- it's pretty much painless and actually enjoyable -- and the results are just grand!

God bless!
Terri

Dear Carrole (AKA: "SweetPea"...just love that name!!!) Wow you are doing great!!! If I was there, I would give you a "High Five"... You have surely proven you have the staying power.  You are a true example of a lifestyle change. This inspires me, for sure, for sure... It's always wonderful to get good news from the Doc... But you are correct, the credit goes to the Lord, but thank God you have CHOSEN to take this path. We all have choices and here on LDL is a "Great Choice"... Thank God the Lord used Roger Troy to get the word out. Blessings on Roger Troy...  Blessings on you too... Looking forward to more good news in the future.  Until then...Happy LDLing!!! Happy 4th!! And God Bless America!!! Love and prayers, Annamaria

I want to thank everyone who stopped by and wished me well.  There are so many wonderful caring people on these boards and I am so excited to get to know you all better.

I am happy to report that I did get my bike out.  You use both arms and legs to make this one work so get a good work out.  I rode 3 1/5 miles.  It took 16 minutes.  Also rode yesterday for 10 minutes.  Makes me have even more energy.  I didn't think I would be able to ride it as last time which was a few years ago, I couldn't ride it.  Praise be to GOD!
