Weight Loss

I spoke with my mother last night and 2 other friends yesterday.  They were all complaining about their weight, so I told them about LDL.  They all 3 asked me how fast people typically lose weight on LDL.  I told them that if the book stated this factoid, I had forgotten.

So my question to you is, how much have some of you lost and how long has it taken you?

Thanks  :)

That's a good question....but I think there is more to it than just being on the program.  I think it is also how one stays with visualizing their bodies losing weight.  I only say this because there are many mind games one plays on themselves.  I have been on this program LDL for 12 days and have been pretty consistant in the eating way of LDL.  I have approximately lost 6 lbs.  I am being conservative because I am not sure which starting point I should go by.  So that is about where I am at.  I think one's body is getting used to things differently and also a lot rides on what I said before...how one thinks positive about it all.

I feel really good in this way of eating and I think my body can tell a difference.  I mean from other diets in which there were always so many feelings of deprivation and being hard on oneself.  I don't feel this way at all and in fact I feel so much calmer.  My spirit is up and I just feel so much more relaxed in myself about eating etc.  Roger says that one's blood sugar gets balanced and I have to agree that could be what I am feeling.  Before I would get so anxious and chew all my nails!  My nails are even growing!  Much more importantly I feel my self esteem becoming stronger and happier!

I even love finding some wonderful recipes to try.  I made up one because I was really craving refried beans!  That is a first!  Any way hope this helped some in your question...

I also feel much lighter in my steps and attitude!

Many Blessings, Michelle *love*

That's kind of a hard question to answer, Greatdanelady,

A lot of us, when we first start LDL, are eager to lose a lot of weight.  Then, when we find how EASY this WOE is, we settle down and just let things take care of themselves.  LDL then changes from a "Diet" to a way of life.  So many of us no longer refer to LDL as a diet, it has become the way we live.  And when what you eat is how you live, you no longer stress about how quickly you're going to lose weight.

Every other "diet" I was ever on was a short term period in my life that I "suffered" through so I could get slim and then get back to eating all the things I have given up in order to go on the "diet".  On LDL, there is no sacrifice, no suffering and you eat all you want of every good food. Who would want to give that up?

So, Typically, I don't know how quickly someone loses weight on LDL.  We are all so different and each one of us configure LDL to our personal lifestyle that there is really no good answer to that question.  I hope you're not more confused now than when you asked the question!  *woot*

Welcome to LDL GreatDaneLady.  In response to your question below, how fast you lose weight is different from each person.  I started almost two weeks ago and though I don't know how much weight I've lost (I don't have a scale and always go by the fit of my clothes), but I can tell you that my pants today fit me a lot nicer than it did when I first bought them a month ago.  My stomach has gone down and I at the end of the day when I get home from work, I don't have that bloated tummy anymore.  Since I started LDL I haven't had any cravings for bread or pasta or rice (I grew up eating rice and ate rice with just about any dish!) or even chocolate (I was a chocoholic...people at work came to me if they needed chocolates).  It is a lot easier for me to say "NO" to junk food too!  I've got only 20 pounds that I want to lose, however, I am loving LDL and the fact that I am eating healthier and feeling good about myself that I wouldn't mind if the 20 pounds went away today or next year as long as I continue to eat the LDL way.   Good luck to you and your mother and her friends. I hope y'all find LDL as beneficial and helpful as I and the other posters here have.

My answer to all of them was the same.  "We didn't put this on over night and we won't lose it over night."

They aren't as excited about it as I am, but hopefully they will see results with me and take it seriously!  I think it could benefit my mother the most since the medications that she takes cause a lot of weight gain :(

I agree with you that with being an example other will wonder why you are so healthy looking, happier and well, just feeling good about life!  Ha!  That is how I feel after only 12 days!  I just know it has to be good when you feel so good!

Many blessings! *love*

Greatdanelady,

I take medications for BP and Rheumatoid Arthritis, including Prednisone, a medicine notorious for making you gain weight.  I have consistently LOST WEIGHT on LDL.  Encourage your Mom to give it a try.

Oh thank you for that info!  My mother has RA and is on the same meds.  She's worked for YEARS to get her weight off only to see if coming right back  :'(
I got an email from her saying she's going to buy the book :D  I will tell her what you said, it will give her a lot of encouragement I think :)

It's very difficult for her b/c she was stick thin until she hit 40.  She suffered from debilitating migraines and they started putting her on medications for depression -- she wasn't depressed, but they didn't know anything about migraines back then.  They still don't know enough to help either of us much with this but at least she doesn't feel like she's crazy.  (I'm not saying people with depression are crazy -- I just mean that the doctors didn't believe her on the severity of her headaches.)

Greatdanelady,

I'm so glad you're going to encourage your Mom to try LDL.  The less weight on our joints, the less pain we have to live with. Knowing how much LDL has helped me, I'm praying that your Mom will be willing to be helped, as well!!
