Hi huntnsweetheart,
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Do you have a husband that knows how to cook? A son or daughter? I've been fortunate to have both who have taken the recipes I've given them and made my soups for me and froze them.
I eat my fruit in the mornings and at night and have my soups for lunch with a grilled chicken breast or LDL hamburger and a side salad (I do take time to cook my lunch and enjoy it).

Huntnsweetheart -- I just wish you didn't have to work so much. Is there anyway to cut back on hours? I guess I'm wondering because my busy life recently changed. I worked like a crazy woman, but now we've decided for me to stay home and care for my mom. I know this is probably not a possibility for you, but if there is any way to slow down the pace. Sometimes we can live on a whole lot less and be a whole lot happier. I'm amazed at how much happier I am and my husband and mom are. We are making it work and it was a change in lifestyle, but we feel a great change.
Well, that was probably no help at all. I have never done LDL when I was that crazy, too busy woman, but I find that the time I spend on most meals is very minimal. What is easier and takes less time than washing or peeling a piece of fruit and eating it? I eat fruit for breakfast and dinner, usually. I eat a lot of bean soups -- many recipes on the boards. There are some recipes that simply require opening cans and cooking. You can grill chicken breats or fish or steak on a Foreman type grill and that takes no time at all. I'd say this lifestyle is doable for you. You have to eat anyway, you might as well make wise choices.

I was looking at some of the other posts and found this one that might answer more of your questions.
http://www.letsdolunch.com/boards/index ... pic=4409.0It's about having a time constrained life and how to do LDL on one. Maybe I could be some help afterall! Hope you join us! I have never been so happy with a way of eating. I feel confident that I will get down to my goal and I will maintain. I've never felt this way before and this is the "livet" I was looking for. I'm so satisfied and never feel deprived. I have my cravings under control and food no longer controls me in any way. What freedom! I want that for you too.

Hi huntnsweetheart,
I am hearing your frustrations. Know when starting anything new it can sound like a lot of work. I think Roger's advice is great. There are so many quick and easy things you can fix that can just come out of a can (as long as you read contents) then mix them up and voila------ something wonderfully healthy to eat. I mean what can be easier that eating an apple, banana, orange etc.

??? I think with a little determination and planning you can do this. And I think you will be glad you put out the extra effort. In fact you probably already have....
Wishing you the best. Hope you keep sharing so we can all share in your victories!!!
look forward to you next post.
hugs,
Bobbi

I hope I can help. I began about 2 weeks ago. I was unable to find the time to start out completely as I would like due to a hectic work schedule. First I started with fruit in the morning, after a few days of this I began having my lunch or dinner with lean protein and lots of veggies (only lean protein with 1 of the meals). More fruit in the evening and then two or three days ago I started to add beans and have bean soup for lunch everyday. I soak my beans during the day and put them in the crock pot on low before I go to bed so they will be ready in time. Some beans do not need to be soaked and if it is faster for you purchase a can of beans. I am spending less time with prep than I thought and it is actually saving time by taking the time to plan ahead.
I keep reading the book every chance I get even if only for 5-10 minutes and then checking this forum. I appreciate all of those who have taken the time to help everyone! Your encouragement has been awesome! I have lost 2-3 lbs already (I know I have to break the habit of getting on the scale every morning), am feeling great, am not having all of the cravings and sweet tooth desires but best of all is that my dear precious husband saw the changes in me after beginning with the fruit and he is eating with me too!
I have tried most of the other "diets" out there but this really seems to be working for me. I love that I am not starving and that I feel better than I normally do which enables me to do more with the life I have been given! I look forward to adding more healthy/tasty foods in my diet and I can't wait to try all of the wonderful recipes I have been reading in the book and this forum. Finally, I feel really good that I have a plan, not just a good plan but the best plan for me.
Drink your water, get your sleep, eat your food (yes, I actually am saying to eat) and begin however best works for you. Remember Baby Steps work, too. I delayed beginning this new way of eating until I had the time and it wasn't happening, so this is what is working for me. Delay is the thing I did not want to do anymore and I am really glad I did not wait. I am so happy I found Let's Do Lunch and I think you will be too!
God bless,
Pamela

Pamela, welcome! You sound like you are off to a great start.

I love this way of eating and it is the answer to my prayers for a
livet instead of a
diet. I am almost to my goal and it was basically a painless way to lose weight. I feel confident that I can maintain the weight because I love eating this way.

Thanks, Crickadoodle! I really appreciate the encouragement. I am beginning to feel the same way as you. Since adding grapefruit 3 days ago as one of my fruits for breakfast I am down 5 lbs. I have never had weight loss like this before as I am hypothyroid and have always had to starve/count calories/measure/feel sick and feel horrible from the diet I was on until this.

Hi Huntnsweetheart and Mylifeforhim,
Welcome both of you to LDL. Isn't this plan wonderful! Who know that you could eat so much delicious food and still lose wieght!! We're so glad to have you both on board.
I understand about the long work hours. I work two jobs, with at total of 12 hours work each day, but only Monday through Friday. I do all of my cooking on the weedends, adding fresh fruit/smoothies/veggies as I go along. There are some really good recipes on this site and in the book/recipe cards. My daughter (Scarlett859) and I have a great time cooking together and trying new things.
Pamela, it seems that you are doing great. You have already grasped the basics of this WOE and have made some wise choices in what you should be eating. I have no doubt that you are well on your way to that thinner you. You girls enjoy the trip.
