Praying for a job
Hi All,
I'm just checking in and asking for prayers. I have lost my new job due to a
lack of business. I may be getting a couple of days here and there but no steady paycheck again.
I'm doing the best I can with my food, but right now I'm also buying things by cost so some of the things I'm eating are not on plan.
Please pray that I find work soon. I'm going to be here even though I'm not 100% on plan. I need the support. Thank you.

Little Princess...
We have added you to our prayer lists and my mother has added you too! Lord willing, the loss of that job was in His plan. I can't tell you how many times something negative turned into a Great BIG POSITIVE!!
(could just be a test for you...so it's great that your faith is strong!)
God bless...

Re: Praying for a job
What type of work do you do again LP? AND Where do you live again?? (general area:State/city not exact address!
) Praying things go smoother for you. I know my hubby has had problems w/ his work at times since being injured last Sept. When his work slows (even though he may still be working but not as much) we apply/reapply for Unemployment. They take any $$ you make (even if not paid yet) out of your award. This may be a possibility for you to help make ends meet.

Hi Veronica,
I'm a floral designer. The summer is always slow for this industry, I just got caught in a situation where I'm low man on the totem pole this year. It happens. I wasn't here long enough to file for unemployment. Not to worry though. I'm hitting the pavement everyday. God has always taken care of me and He will this time too. It's just that being a human being I forget that sometimes and get scared. That's when I need yall to remind me not to be.
Thank you for your concern and your prayers. It means alot. ((((((((Hugs))))))))

Re: Praying for a job
A lot of us are in the same cash flow boat. And we have difficulty staying on the plan when things get rough too. Some weeks are better than others.
Perhaps we should prepare for these things the same way we prepare for an earthquake or any disaster. Dried beans, canned goods.........that kind of thing.
I've been thinking about this for a while now, how our finances effect our ability to maintain an LDL lifestyle. Even with the right foods in the cubboard, BANG............we go right for the comfort foods when we open the mail to a mountain of debts...it's stress!
I have imagined that the next phase of LDL would deal with our finances and the way we prepare for the rough waters ahead. Most of us cringe when we have to face a $400 auto repair in our paycheck to paycheck existence, we rob Peter to pay Paul sometimes making a late mortgage or rent check.
I'm babeling.................Margo is right about God having other plans for us, keep your eyes open, sometimes these things are right under our noses (I missed a beaut the other day!) and I will remember you in prayer.

Re: Praying for a job
Hey Joe...
it's fine to babble...it's good to get things off your chest and express yourself. No one is perfect in faith and God knows we are not perfect in our faith and that it goes up and down. That's why it's so important that we are here for each other and when one is down, someone else is up to give a boost and remind us of our Heavenly Father who KNOWS ALL and sees everything, is aware of our needs and will address them. It is said that God knows the number of hairs on our heads....imagine that! But it doesn't make our Earthy challenges disappear completely...We still have to show our Lord that in those moments, that we rely on HIM and go ahead and thank Him for those challenges....When i say my prayers in the morning and i'm at the part where i'm thanking God for all the blessings He gives me, i also thank HIm for that potential client that did not retain me...not just for the clients who did retain me because i believe that God knows which clients are not good for me...and i trust that completely. So it may mean less money but i live simply and everything works out.
Also, when cash flow is needed, i find that giving a bit of money will sort of prime the pump and get the flow coming in. Even $2.00 or so given to a homeless person, for instance, if given with faith that Our Lord sees this and will multiply it and send it back to us, works to get the money rolling back in. I don't understand exactly why it works like that, but it does. The thing, though, is that when we have financial challenges, we tend to think that we need to hold onto all the money we can so we don't completely run out of it, but in truth, giving a little bit of our little bit starts the influx we are needing.
Anyway...i've gone on too long, i think...
Have a good evening everyone and God bless!

There is an old Italian custom that says when we give, we get back three times.............
Some years ago Delia and I spent $7,000 (spread out over several months) restoring the Health Lodge at the summer camp we are involved in, that same summer Delia became a contestant on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire".
Long story short, she won $32,000...................3 X $7,000 = $21,000................$32,000 - $11,000 (taxes) = $21,000
Ain't that a kick in the head!
Joe

Joe...you're giving me goose bumps! it's wonderful...just goes to prove how God works. And i always remember the story of Job...how he was tested and when he thought he had lost everything, God gave him back everything -- in SPADES!!!
It's great to hear this testimony, Joe. It rejuvenates my faith and makes me feel weak -- but in a good way!
Good nite all and God bless!

Re: Praying for a job
LP, Check into the unemployment even if you think you haven't been somewhere long enough. They look at your earnings for the past year and then take the highest earning quarter to base your unemployment amount on. You never know...just might qualify!
Joe/Margo...you're both right...we do tend to hold on for dear life but the Bible says something along the lines of give w/ a faithful heart and God will reward you 7 fold or 10 fold (I can't remember quite what it is but I remember that he will multiply it!) I find that by giving a small amount to our church, I tend to get something later (within a week or 2)

Re: Praying for a job
Hi Joe,
You know something? You are exactly right about this. It's funny that you mention not being prepared because that is a hard lesson I've been learning lately. It never even dawned on me that I should be prepared with my food as well. How amazing your story about Delia's winnings! Thank you for sharing all of this with me. It's helped. Thank you so much for the prayers.
margo, you reminded me of something very important too. I've got to get my focus off of me and focus on helping someone else. That is always the cure for self pity. *Hugs*
veronica, I did check hon and I don't qualify. It's okay though, I know God has something wonderful for me. It's like Joe says, I just have to keep my eyes open.
I love you guys! (((((((((((((Hugs))))))))) Have a great day and wish me luck on the job hunt today!

Re: Praying for a job
Hi LP - I've not been on the boards for a number of days. I'm sorry to hear about your job, as I know you really loved it. I will definitely add you when I say my prayers. Actually, more than actual "prayer", my prayers usually consist of my thank-you's.
I rarely ASK for anything - ("be careful what you wish for, you just might get it"). I had a dear friend that prayed every night that she and her husband (and 4 kids) would be able to get a house. She DID end up getting a house - when her father died and left his to her... Ever since she told me this, I realized what my prayers consisted of, and since that day started giving thanks sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
whoaaa... I dozed!!
LP - hugs, sweetie.....

Re: Praying for a job
Hi Little Princess. Just said a prayer that the reason you haven't updated this is because you're so busy at your new job!
One of Oral Roberts' foundational principles is seed-faith giving. You sew your seed into someone else's circumstance, whether it's money, prayers, or time, believing it will reap a harvest in a specific area of your own life. You are all absolutely right, it works. It's not about buying a miracle...if that were true, we'd all have our checkbooks out so fast the wind from it would be like a hurricane!
Hope to hear from you soon.
