Please Stand With Me Today!

Ya'll; it hit hard this morning.
My mother is gone and it's Thanksgiving again. For the last 2 years I fell off the LDL train from late November to early June (Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Dinner, New Year's treats, Mother's birthday, Easter candy, Mother's Day, my birthday, the anniversary of her death, and then Memorial service). I finally figured out last May that I am eating sugary things triggered by my grief over losing Mother; a subconscious 'celebration' of my relationship with her.
This is my testing ground.
Today is the day I do not give in to all the desserts floating around in my head that Mother loved so much.
Today I need help to stick to my eating plan!

Enjae,

You are in my prayers...I have been there, done that.  I lost my parents several years ago, they both passed only 4 months apart.  It was a very difficult thing for me.

Praying for you and thankful that you are here on LDL and an encouragement to others, so here's some encouragement for you...YOU CAN DO IT....do it for YOU, and I pray God will empower you with his strength and Peace to make it through it all.

In His Name,
Doroeen

Somewhere on the boards, someone said, "When you feel badly, why make yourself feel worse by eating what you know is wrong?"  That really hit me, and I thought I'd repeat it here just in case it would help you to think twice.  Sometimes when we're really into our grief, it helps to pray for someone else.  If you think of it, pray for my friend Sheila.  In the last three weeks, each a week apart, she lost her mother, her grandmother and then her father. I know she'd appreciate your prayers.'

someone once told me that he experienced more blessings for himself and his family when his prayers were totally focused on the needs of others..........your saying this has reminded me of this, pat....thank you..........now, i'm going to apply it even more to my prayer life.........

[glow=red,2,300][/glow] *love*  Enjae, I'm new to LDL but I have lost both parents and carbs and sugar does help but the damage it does to the inside of your body is awful if you can read "Sugar Shock" it will help I go outside get my mind on something else the mind is a powerful thing and we have to learn how to control it Joyce Meyers has a great book out call the Mind is a battlefield and she helped me to not let grief to consume me nor food so I hope you take courage today and always know you have the power to do anything you want to, to be happy or be sad it's all up to you I know my parents would not be happy with me if I was very sad because they are having a ball in heaven and they all very happy and they want me to be happy so I choose today to be happy because of what GOD had done for me .I had wonderful parents and I loved them more than anything but knowing that I will see them one day makes me happy so don't be to hard on youself love yourself and what GOD has in store for you in your furture
