Although I'm old, I'm not a Pro  ;D.  I might try it though but I would use the jar garlic and frozen onions so it may turn out like your 1st batch.

The second time I had gotten the jar of garlic cloves in the produce cooler case. They are already peeled. Trust me, I find the things that make it the easiest to do that I can. As far as the onions, I had used the dried onions. I think that's why they burned. I don't think the frozen would be a problem. The are going to be blended anyway. If not I know you can find them fresh already cut up in the produce cooler case somewhere by the garlic. I forget what the brand name is.

Please tell me why you can't microwave the squash until a bit softer, then scoop or carve out the half cooked flesh and roast that?  So the shape's different - does it matter?  It would perhaps save fingers and wrists trying to peel the rock hard vegetable.  Yes?

We did microwave them. But it was still kinda tough. Mom had put one in for a few minutes but then when it came out it was too hot to cut with bare hands. I used a big carving knife to cut in half then cut off the straight part. Then used a veggie peeler to get the skin off. That was easier than trying to cut off the skin. After I had them skinned, mom cut into 1 inch chunks. I think it would take too long to try and roast them halved. Also you wouldn't get all the oil and herbs on most of the squash. It was easier having help but I did the first one (the burnt one) by myself and that one seemed to be easier to cut. It could be that it was a couple weeks old too and a smaller one at that.

Well I've completed 2 full weeks on LDL and I'm still loving it!  I discovered soy nuts (where were they all my life?) and they are really filling.  During the 2 weeks the only thing I really snacked on was frozen grapes.  Well last night I found myself to be a lean  ;), mean eating machine!  Dang, I couldn't stop eating those soy nuts and frozen grapes!  I was so glad it was time to go asleep.  In order to keep from scolding myself I have to keep saying, "it's your job to eat right now, it's your job to eat right now!"  Maybe I was celebrating completing 2 successful weeks on LDL!

Here's what I ate:
Breakfast-strawberries and pineapple
Lunch-cauliflower soup, fish, can of corn
Snack-frozen grapes & soy nuts
Dinner-orange, pear, black-eye peas
Snack-lots of frozen grapes & soy nuts

Today I'm going to eat Taco Soup for the first time.  I'm really excited!

Hey Tonya:

Isn't it about time to adjust that aeroplane a little closer to the Skinny Terminal?  Who lost weight and isn't telling?  Huh?  Time for a little bragging, methinks, and get that victory dance perfected, will ya?

Why do I do it?  Why do I hop on the scale after going out to eat the night before?  :bomb:  I know it's just water weight but still!  I shan't tell what the scale said this morning but I will say I WAS GOOD while at the restaurant.  I turned down alcohol and drank lots of water, I turned down the absolutely wonderful italian bread with EVOO and olive mix and I ate a salad with grilled shrimp although the dressing was not on the side.  The shrimp tasted awfully salty.  Maybe through ismosis I got the calories of the italian bread  ;)

Work buddies are taking me out to lunch today for a late birthday so I will have salad again but get the dressing on the side.  I always seem to have a weight change when I eat out.

Well here's what else I had yesterday.

Coffee - two cups + splenda
Breakfast - orange, strawberries, pineapple
Snack - banana
Lunch - taco soup (wonderful), steamed veggies (brocolli, cauliflower and carrots)
Dinner - already mentioned above
Snack - soynuts

How do some of you eat out and not gain weight (see yesterday's journal and below)?  I guess I'm just salt sensitive because what I'm eating should not cause weight gain.  I know it's probably water weight so I'm NOT going to let it bother me!  Here's my day!
Coffee - two cups + splenda
Breakfast - strawberries, pineapple
Lunch - out-office took me for birthday.  Grilled tuna on salad.  Dressing again not on side-tabasco pepper jelly vinagrette
Dinner - out-friends birthday dinner. Virgin bloody mary (won't do that again as it almost cost $8 for tomato juice & veggies), NO CHIPS (I should have a reward of a 5 lb loss instead of gain), bowl of pinto beans, vegetarian fajita W/O sides (no guacamole, sour cream, cheese, etc.)  The vegetarian fajita was excellent-portabello mushroom, asparagus, onions, peppers, etc.)
Bedtime Snack - handful of soynuts

OK, I've decided to dust off this journal and be accountable for what I eat and drink.  As in the beginning, I'll post the day after.  All of you know that I'm not qued to thirst so I'm really going to work on that and start drinking as of today.  Hopefully this will push those fluids right out my body that are being retained due to BP medicine.  It's noon and I've already drank 42 fl. oz. of Arizona Diet Green Tea (LDL approved)--I know, I know plain water is better but I've got to start somewhere.  I'll fill the same bottle up with pure H2O and we'll see how much I drink of that.  I am getting more exercise this morning as I've gone to the powder room at least double and perhaps triple the amount that I usually do  ;D

I still have a couple of pounds to bid farewell to that somehow found me over the holidays.  OK, until tomorrow.

Tonz2day if you don't like plain water try blending up 5 or 6 strawberries with a little water in your blender until smooth and then add to a gallon of water, I did this with strawberries, banana's and kiwi fruit....it helped me drink more water and now I can drink more water plain with nothing in it.  You can make as strong or weak as you like by add more or less fruit.

Hi:  Thank you for your recent reply to my new journal.
Wishing you a wonderful New Year and keep on going you will start losing again. Holidays make it a bit difficult especially if we let one little morsels into our mouths it can trigger more eating

Breakfast - huge fuji apple, orange
Snack - banana
Lunch - leftovers-cabbage, red beans, mixed veggies, small bag of steamed veggies
Snack - frozen grapes, 1 corn thin with Simply Fruit
Dinner- slice of roast beef, hot Banana Treat - yum (2 bananas, 1/4 cup OJ, small box raisins, Cinnamon-micro 3 minutes)

60 oz. of Arizona Diet Green Tea

When I got home I wasn't feeling all that great and then I remembered when I first started LDL I went through detox.  Whew, guess I ate more at Christmas/New Year than I thought.  Only have 1 more pound to lose of Christmas/New Year weight gain.

I know what you mean about the detox.  I went through the same thing the first few days after the holidays.  Sounds like we are moving at the same rate.  I have one pound of holiday gain left to loose.
The hot banana treat sounds great.  I think I'll try it tonight.  This cold in Florida is killing me.  I've been trying to just do fruit at night for two weeks to jump start weight loss and my body really wants something hot.
Great job and thanks for sharing so I don't feel alone.

Lordy girl NEVER feel alone!  We are there for you!  Yeah, it's amazing how cold it is in the South.  I'm from Louisiana and we're cold but I saw Florida is even colder than we are and unfortunately we don't have cold weather clothes, do we?

I work really close to where I live and my car can't even get warm in the time it takes me to get here.  I think this is the first time since I've moved to Florida that I wore a turtle neck and wasn't on the motorcycle.
